Some barrier-throwing nonsense outside the T-End yesterday which has gone viral on t'interweb. Seems a small number of Kiddie fans waited outside at the final whistle and attacked City fans leaving. Looked pretty nasty, if small scale.

As it stands 15 mins in today’s games City are in the playoffs!!

With CTFC stable in L1, Gloucester potentially going up to the NL, and FGR imploding it is turning into a good year for proper Gloucestershire football.

I back them to win them.

Wouldn’t it be great if in the next five years they are in a higher league than FGR.

Gloucester in 6th on 65 points with two games left. Play offs go down to 7th.

A good position but relying on others to falter; Darlington in 8th are on 64 points but with three games left.


Darlington’s game in hand is vs Curzon Ashton, who whilst in 12th place are on 61 with four games left.

Even 11th place are on 63 points.

But at this stage of the season points on the board are key, and it’s Gloucester who have them.

Anyone tempted to watch one of the playoff games if they get there?

Miles Hammond who is one of Glos’ recent and current best performers is Cheltenham-born, although mostly Oxford-schooled.

The best, oldest and longest running cricket festival in the world is held in Cheltenham, and that’s good enough for me.

I do have an agenda as a Gloucestershire nationalist/separatist, I’ll concede that, so that’s influencing my desire to see the Shire succeed.

I have indeed. I have been advocate of more regional autonomy (not just Glos/West) for 20+ years.

In reality it’ll never happen at County level but as the West of England gets more devolved powers in the coming decade there would be a debate to be had as to whether join them more formally, even if not fully. A bit like when the Hwicce was a sub-kingdom of Wessex.

(If you want get very historical about it, then consider me part of the 1400 year old rebound to the 628 Battle of Cirencester where Mercia captured the Hwicce, before removing it from the map in 770. A legacy of which remains today with the County’s analogue TV receiving Midlands/ Northern news.)

Starting the day in 11th, Gloucester were in sixth place, until the second minute of first half injury time when Chorley equalised to move themselves up into the play offs. Kidderminster bottling so far.

The only reason that Gloucester/Chorley was on my radar was due to the posts on here, and the fact that it was potentially a winner takes all tie made me want to go.

Matthew Barnes-Homer turning into prime Akinfenwa and bullying the Chorley defence was incredible. The epitome of "Fine - I'll do it myself!" Tope (sp?) volleying in the winner with his left after missing a very good chance earlier on.

Just another reason why fans put up with the terrible days for times like this.

Vor - was it me or did some of the Chorley fans sing "1-0 and you f*d it up" after their third goal?

Yes they did, but who could blame them.

I was stood on the bar terrace, and they weren't quite as chipper when it went to 3-3, and we belted it back. Although replacing the 1-0 with 3-1 of course. At that stage we both had to go for a winner, and it got a bit Harry Enfield until that thing of beauty made it 4-3.
