I wonder what our resident poster, RC, thinks of this...?

A travesty.

I can provide two takes, pick as suits your view:

1. One can only imagine the bacteria are the best immune boosting probiotics known to humanity so we should actually be upgraded in status to the world’s first Super Spa.

2. Something else sacred ruined by decades of underinvestment by Tories, destroying yet another piece of cultural history which once made this country great, through false economy and neglect.

Or maybe the Lib Dems for spunking all that money on the white elephant Boots Corner fiasco?

Depends on your view on investing to make things better. If we were Switzerland or Singapore we’d have done the Boots Corner stuff properly rather than a watered down half-baked effort AND made sure the Spa was in top nick with good infrastructure around it. But the British way is to not invest and when we do view it as cost cutting exercise and try to pander to different minority lobbying groups. So we end up with broken stuff and fiascos which cost more money and hassle to fix, if we ever do.

Boots Corner wasn’t making anything better, ask the masses. It completely screwed up the town and forgot public transport, that’s not always an option.

Or maybe we've just found out precisely why it tastes like water from Albert Steptoe's annual bath.

As I said, half-baked and a fiasco and not done properly.

Been cutting Council’s’ budgets since 2010. Most local authorities can barely afford delivery of essential statutory services, let alone investment in infrastructure and development.

Our, ok not yours, illustrious council find imaginative ways to waste the money they do have

But then, if you are going to try and point fingers then point them at those and the party that actually made the half baked decisions. If I remember the boots corner shambles correctly. Those behind it even refused to install advice on what alternate routes the traffic should take, with the belief that drivers would find their on way. With Waze and similar then diverting them thru residential rat run and rat run. Then refused to accept they were causing problems elsewhere. The same ones are now telling the Cheltenham trust to remove their thriving cafe from the pump room because 30 rich folk objected to it. While another monied person has what looks like a Red Cross camp on the prom.

Yup, typical Lib Dems of the last few years.

For example, go to one Council and they will be pro-house building. Go to another and they will be completely anti-house building. Purely based on what they think will win them support rather than what is best for local economic development.
