With all due respect, I know getting at Vince is free reign on here and I'm not against that, but, I think the one thing you can't accuse him of is being an unfit and improper owner. He has never seen the club into any financial issues, as far as I'm aware never been late with pay to staff, etc...

What he's done is financially dope the club above their "station" and if he does go their financial sustainability might be in issue - but until he does then he's been nothing but a good thing for FGR in terms of where they are as a club (forget the moralistic issues that you may or may not agree with)
I disagree Si.

'Financial doping' is precisely what poor owners do. It's all fine.......until it isn't.

If a football club is completely reliant on the benevolence of one person, then they are incredibly fragile. It isn't completely the owners' fault. The EFL/FA rules are culpable here in allowing these situations to develop.

But unless the owner has a sustainability plan, which is in their gift, then I would argue they are, at least partially, culpable in putting the future of their clubs at risk.
I've seen one comment on another forum that sums up FFP and how its unfit for purpose on the premise that: "a guy that makes £100k a year but owes half a million is better off than someone who makes £50k a year with no debt"

so until the former is targeted than the later then clubs will still push the boundaries.

Speaking of other forums, delusion is kicking in on the FGR forum.

This is how a poster finished a post about changing the manager:

“Big Sam or the Cowleys for me.”

What a shame the vegans are dumped out of the cup!

He’s gone in the morning sadly, wonder which pleb they’ll employ next, I reckon Tweedy could do a better job than who they pick.

Andy Williams doing Gloucester in with the last kick of the game and FGR bottle at 2-0 lead against Newport.

Merry Christmas.

Gloucester's brand new ground didn't endear itself to the Hereford fans... And some complain about the gradient in the PRE!

Round 2 today as Gloucester head up the Wye to Edgar Street.

I’m supporting the Shiremen in this one, against the occupiers of the West Bank (of Symond’s Yat).

Fair dos, a near sell out at Edgar Street. 4516 including nearly 300 from Gloucester. That’s mighty good for tier 6 football. No other country in the world supports local football like us.

Bit of a debate on Twitter about this Tweet from the official Gloucester City account. How would you feel if CTFC put this out about a player with a long history at the Club?

https://twitter.com/GCAFCofficial/statu ... 1449320475

“With plenty of rumours circulating, we would like to elaborate on the transfer status of Joe Parker.

Joe has been told he will no longer be part of the first team squad and while talks are ongoing about moving away, he will remain with the reserves and development teams.”

Gloucester lose at home to Blyth Spartans. Brandon Liggett completely left out of the squad to the confusion of many Tigers fans.

Gloucester are doomed - they have absolutely nothing going forward. Reminds me of us at the start of the season.

Could be playing Cleeve next season if they get promoted.

It won’t please people to hear, but the travails of the Shire sides discussed in this thread make the case for a Gloucester-FGR merger even stronger.

Merging teams is never an easy solution to a problem. Who can forget Robert Maxwell trying to merge Oxford and Reading or Max Griggs with Rushden and Irthlingborough Diamonds.

Yes, it is certainly something I wouldn’t like to see.

From this outsider's view, there is a stronger case for a Gloucester City-Cheltenham Town merger.

And that case has precisely nothing going for it!

You might be right. Obviously no mergers are a serious consideration.

Gloucester City beaten at high-flying Chorley last night. Now four points from safety having played more games than most of those around them.

Meanwhile, in the Southern League Div One, Cribbs are sat at the top of the table looking for back to back promotions. Will be handy for Tigers fans wanting to combine the football with a bit of shopping next season.

Gloucester City done 5-0 at home to South Shields today.

Away at Rushall in a relegation 6-pointer next weekend. Huge.

Still fighting then.

I reckon two out of the three Glos sides in their relegation areas will stay up.

I'd be very surprised if Gloucester stay up. I'd fancy FGR's chances of survival more than Gloucester's. Oh dear oh dear

Truro City hosting Taunton at New Meadow Park on Saturday!
Only 196 miles for a HOME match.

Truro had pitch issues during the bad weather and had agreed to play their remaining Home matches at Taunton.
Taunton in turn have had similar issues and with more rain forecast the clubs agreed on New Meadow Park.
How they both fit in their remaining 32 matches with around 16 at Home is another matter.
Truro have been bought my an American ( not a movie star) and should have a new ground ready for next season..

Agent Cotterill seems to have gone rogue. FGR have won 3 out of 6 and are now two points off safety.

They're going to be well safe by the end of the season. Colchester can't win to save their lives. 2 league wins since 7th November, and they have been very spaced out. Don't know what's happened there because they weren't doing too bad before then. They'd just won 3 in a row.

Tough time to be a Tigers fan. Their Twitter was even worse than ours on Saturday night. And that is saying something.

FGR out of the relegation zone with a win at Bradford, although Colchester do have two games in hand.

Colchester have been given permission from the EFL to make their pitch shorter and narrower in order to cut out the worst areas of the surface to try and get games on for the rest of the season.
