Davies international call up
Moderators: Admin, Ralph, asl, Robin
"When I first got the call, I was trying to get promotion back to the Premier League - that was my focus," Davies explained.
"The next time, I was trying to stay in the Premier League with Hull. It was a little bit difficult for me, in terms of my club career, to make the decision."
Fortunately Cheltenham are dead and buried.

I really don't understand this attitude? Its October there's time to turn this around.HamTown wrote: ↑17 Oct 2023, 07:31 "When I first got the call, I was trying to get promotion back to the Premier League - that was my focus," Davies explained.

Apparently not for Davies. If you take what he has said there at face value it makes it look like he has always put club before country, but not now as little old Cheltenham don't matter/are already done. I don't think he would have meant it to come across quite as harsh as that.longmover wrote: ↑17 Oct 2023, 08:40I really don't understand this attitude? I'd like to think HamTown made the comment I was referring to.Shade wrote: ↑17 Oct 2023, 10:25Apparently not for Davies. I took it similar to what Shade said. I'm sure he didn't mean it quite like the slap in the face it seemed but it does suggest that this relegation scrap isn't as important to him
I think DC will try and get him to move on come January to free up the budget and accepting this callup may be with that in mind

I didn’t read it like that. Think this part is more telling …
“I'm hoping that, selfishly, it's good for me," he said. "It's a reset and a boost that, I hope, will kick me on for the rest of the season.”

Made his debut, starting tonight's friendly.
Hopefully a few players that have been outrageously overlooked for international duty over the years will be begging to join us in January...

Well, JP reported on Friday that Davies has missed out on making his competitive debut for Sierra Leona this last weekend, as paperwork for his switch from England to SL didn't go through in time, so he stayed back here. They've only had a month to sort it out...
