Not Christian Norton then...

We must be planning to ship a couple out then as we're pretty overloaded with midfielders..

Asked a Vale supporting friend about him and he was going on about how much he misses him for Vale and how he can’t believe they released him. Should be a good, shrewd signing and it’s good
to see the board supporting DC. January is going to be very interesting isn’t it?

Bonds or Thompson not particularly liked, then.

Suspect it's more Chapman and Adshead are not good enough and if one of Bonds or Thompson goes down we could be in schtuck.

Yep. The consistent form and performance we need to show between now and the end of the season to survive this mess is full-on. We therefore can’t afford being at a disadvantage for the odd game due to injuries, jet-lag, red zone stats etc

Good luck Tom, hope you help prevent us free falling down the leagues

He's a scrapper which is what we need in our current position.

We need Leaders out on the pitch, and scrappers as others have said. I hope he can get up-to-speed quickly as he’s not had any competitive football for some time.

Solid signing to add to Thompson, Bonds,Sercombe and Olayinka.
As others have said Chapman and Adshead to go in January or before if mutually agreed terms can be agreed.
Someone said that free agents are just that for a reason so wonder what Petts is.

Thompson, Bonds, Sercombe, Olayinka and Pett, is a decent array of midfielders (for us), Pett would be well versed in the way DC plays so another mouth on the pitch and training ground.

Great addition if he is a sitter.
Bonds and Thompson very capable of playing in one of the more advanced midfield positions when we want to press high up the pitch and win the ball in the opposition half.

Is James Olayinka injured? No mention of him last week that I saw. If so this short term cover makes sense.

It’s a squad game and we need a matchday squad with enough quality to make five subs a match. Every match.

Thompson or Sercombe etc having to play 90 minutes in a game if they only have enough energy to play the required intensity for 70 minutes could cost us valuable points. We have to scrap to optimum level for every point.

Maybe DC eyeing up a 433 with the 3 battlers in midfield

JP just X'd (?) to say Bonds out with ankle ligament damage. Further explains addition of Tom Pett.

Good spot and thanks for the update.

Pett and Thompson rotating alongside Sercs really is an experienced midfield now. Complete contrast to games where we have seem Hammond alongside Bonds and Chapman!

Well, it will be once he is match fit. Who knows when he will be at that standard

Stick him straight in against Wimbledon, that'll help build his fitness up.

Can’t see him being thrown into the first 11. But you never know with DC.
