How can we get rid of them? Who will take them?Shade wrote: ↑06 Nov 2023, 14:28 Well, he now knows that Adshead and others can't do it against a L2 team, let alone L1, so there are positives to be taken from the game. I assume if DC manages to get 15 players out in January and manages to recruit another 7 or 8 better then we might still be paying about the same amount in wages.
I'd be scouring the weekends footage to be picking up some bargains, based on how many upsets there were for L1 and L2 teams. Some of the goals Aldershot banged in against Swindon were far beyond the finishing we have witnessed from our team this season.

Maybe a National League (or NLS/N) side on loan? Hopefully one who can contribute to wages.Ihearye wrote: ↑06 Nov 2023, 15:41How can we get rid of them? that is a problem if all we get is wages contributed to, we need shot of peopleRegencyCheltenhamSpa wrote: ↑06 Nov 2023, 16:33Maybe a National League (or NLS/N) side on loan? Well if we get wages contributed until we can release them at contract end then it’s better than nothing.Ihearye wrote: ↑06 Nov 2023, 17:06that is a problem if all we get is wages contributed to, we need shot of peopleRegencyCheltenhamSpa wrote: ↑06 Nov 2023, 16:33Maybe a National League (or NLS/N) side on loan? Well, there are 5 or 6 loans I assume could be terminated for a start, so that leaves 8-10 others. I was thinking agreeing terminations if there is no interest in them from other clubs. Leave now as a free agent for a pittance or sit in the stands for another 5 months and good luck finding another club then, although I have to admit I can't remember who of the s#!t list have contracts beyond next summer.
How likely that is to work, I don't know. There would surely be interest in lower L2 or National League clubs for the likes of Chapman and Adshead, as per last season.

I can see a few holding out for a severance payment, the main ones being Adshead and Chapman so it will come down to is that cheaper overall or a loan to the national league where the host club only pay a percentage of their wages. I also mentioned before that in order to fund new players we may have to sell some of our better ones and I still wouldn't rule that possibility out.Shade wrote: ↑07 Nov 2023, 15:08 Well, there are 5 or 6 loans I assume could be terminated for a start, so that leaves 8-10 others. Could we also loan out Keena to LOI, I wouldn't rule that out.
I don't know anything about his wages but the fee paid was definitely nominal and less than we paid for Ryan Broom last summer. Either way I agree it's been a poor signing but for perspective nobody ever gets every signing right and last summer we got more right than than wrong.
Obviously it's not certain we would have been chosen , but Wimbledon set for loads of cash if they defeat Ramsgate in front of the TV cameras.
