I remember the incident, clear as day - and Schmeichel's reaction, in particular. Horrific. IIRC, the match resumed after groundstaff mopped up the blood from the penalty area...not sure that would happen, nowadays!

Went into work on Monday and everyone was talking about it. Even those who had no interest in football.
The game was played like a friendly afterwards. No players wanted to tackle. There was a huge patch of sand in Schmeichel's penalty area to soak up the blood.
To answer your question, I suspect the game would be abandoned now.
