Loathe as I am to defend Brighton, of all the targets for obscene spending in the Premier League there are plenty more deserving of opprobrium than Bloom.
That half a billion spend is over a near 20 year period and includes £100m spent on one of the best, most beautifully designed stadiums in the country. His dad and grandad were both Albion fans and he was born and bred in the town.
Compared to the Glazers, the Saudis, Mansour etc etc Bloom is salt of the earth.
