Yes but that's kind of my point we can then let Sohna compete with a proper left back and release Shipley back to Norwich. I don't want to try Sohna for 3-4 games and then sign a trialist.
As always If a player becomes available who is a better left-back than Sohna and Payne, and there's the budget available, then sign them on. If not, stick with what we've got. Sohna did well Tuesday, and Payne is a proven left back.
Payne plays on the right. I think you mean Shipley.

Ben Williams who joined Carlisle until xmas hasn't featured much for them.
As good as what we currently have imho.

Williams is, and I’m struggling to comprehend this, injured.

Unbelievable, I know.

Yeah only 2 starts and 5 appearances in total. If he could stay fit, not get suspended and get a run of 10-20 starts at a time, he'd probably be a decent League One player. As it is, he's had to go to the far north to find a League club, he's made 5 appearances for the team second bottom of the football league, and they've only taken a risk on him until January.

Ben Williams is from Lancashire so probably happy to be home.

Hardly home. Depending on which part of Lancashire, there could have only been 30 mins between getting there from Cheltenham or Carlisle!

I'm sure I heard on yesterday's commentary Messieurs' Halliwell and Matthews discussing whether Declan John was one of the trialists, and that they'd ask Flynn after the game. Can't see anything in the post-match

That's the rumour going around but presumably the club don't want it to get out in case another club comes in.

He's already been on trial at Carlisle and also Swindon along with big Dan, so it's not much of a secret he's looking for a club.

I wouldn't have thought so, he's on loan at Cambridge from Bolton. And he's made a whopping 8 appearances so far this season.

Port Vale sign free agent ex-WBA midfielder Harper - https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/arti ... 6k7wyxzk5o

Was this the one we wanted signing for another L2 club?

Makes me wonder based on MFs comments if we've been told Colwill is to be recalled (and probably loaned out to a L1 club)
