Re: Cheltenham Town v Cambridge United
Dire first half but we came out with the right attitude in the second. Stubbs was excellent, good play by Taylor on both goals, another solid game for Kinsella, Dulson put in a shift and I thought Pett helped to keep it simple when we needed it.

Re: Michael Flynn after Port Vale draw
I thought Taylor was really poor when he came on, he didn’t close them down or anything. And I always think it’s questionable to be changing centre halves near the end when you’re defending a result.
Perhaps not too different to the Bromley game then.

Our record at bringing young players through has generally been pretty poor, so if MM helped make changes to improve that, fair play to him. I guess the next five years will give an indication of how successful that’s been.

Re: Cheltenham Town v Tranmere Rovers
A good win, especially as we’ve got some tough games coming up. First half was tedious, no lack of effort from us but precious little of any merit with Miller, Archer and Thomas making little headway and having to contend with poor balls forward. I thought the subs made the difference for us and we ...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Bromley
We were just poor against ten men, especially in the second half, playing the long ball and giving up possession. Fair play to Bromley, they played some decent football throughout.

Re: Cheltenham Town v Reading
Enjoyable game, everyone put a good shift in although I can’t help feeling that we’ve seen the best of Taylor and he still has 18 months on his contract. A very good first half from us and we should have been ahead. In the second Reading were just starting to get on top and we were done for pace at ...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Bradford City
That was proper football and by far the best game at WR this season. A great first half from us, exciting to watch, Miller, Archer and Thomas all looking a threat, Bennett very tidy at the back and Kinsella covering a hell of a lot of ground. And fair play to Sohna for a steady performance at full-b...

Re: Colchester United v Cheltenham Town
Great result. Yet again, it gives us some breathing space and a few more games for Flynn to work out his best side & formation. And good to see Thomas in the action. Who’d have thought he’d have to wait until October for his third start?

Re: David Bloxham interview
The one thing I take issue with, like Ihearye, is the comment about not wanting to spend a minimal amount to generate 'only' £100k. He then says that we cannot afford a CEO as this would cost the same as a good player in salary (maybe around £100k?) and so would take away from the playing budget. S...

It’s an interesting interview but it shouldn’t take the board being backed into a corner for them to discuss matters that happened four or five months ago.

Sohna started the first two games of the season and we were a mess defensively. He strikes the ball well but there are probably other aspects of his game that leave us a bit exposed.

Re: Michael Flynn after Swindon defeat
Flynn’s talking out of his arse. There wasn’t any negativity from last season - we had a good go at overcoming an incredibly bad start to the season, but it wasn’t to be. The negativity only began when things subsequently started to fall apart.

Re: Flynn - in or out?
Not yet, but not far off. Games are awful to watch and our performance has been poor at every home game so far. We’ve seen a few good patches of football, today for example, but this has been more than outweighed by our rank crapness over the majority of the game. All three games we’ve won had an el...

Interesting and he does make some valid points, but it also comes across as petty at times. Fundamentally, comms from the top level of the club have been awful but there doesn't seem to be any desire to correct this, and it gets perceived as arrogance by fans. As has been mentioned, we are only told...

Re: iNews Article on CTFC
We played in the Welsh Cup in the late 80s as Kidderminster had been doing it with some success. It didn’t work for us though and the Conference weren’t happy at the cup taking preference on Saturdays. I think our most notable run was before that, maybe late 70s or early 80s when we lost narrowly at...

I think there have only been 2 or 3 waterlogged in the last 25 years. No point wrecking the pitch just to play this game. I remember a game against Southend that was postponed less than 1 hour before kick-off and it was throwing it down. Wasn’t it also Southend when we had an abandoned game when a f...

Re: Update from trust
I’d be disappointed with the Trust if they turned down an offer to contribute 50% of the cost of the review. I’m sure it could be raised from members. It just all comes across as petty squabbling and self-defeating and, ultimately, the club & fans won’t benefit if the review doesn’t happen.

Re: CTFC Up for sale
There’s a legacy, often amongst senior non-League clubs, of using the freehold of the ground as security for borrowing. All too often it ends with debts becoming unmanageable and the club has to sell the ground to stay afloat. Classic example is Worcester City, once a leading team, big ground, good ...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Accrington Stanley
A battling 20 minute display and 3 welcome points, giving Flynn another breathing space to try again to sort out the obvious mess. Over the whole 90 minutes though, I thought we were relegation standard, which is pretty much how we’ve looked over the five home games as a whole.

This is what happens when you have characters like James Young and Mark Halliwell thinking they can dictate. Calling out the board in a public forum and making demands on how the club should be run. The board have said up with this we will not put. This could backfire in a catastrophic way……: I mea...

Re: Update from trust
Even if the club is up for sale surely it would still be worth having this external review carried out and then this can be used as a basis for a new owner and the Trust to move forward? Not wanting the review comes across as the board not wanting it to be made public just how far they’ve allowed th...

One if the confusing things for me is that, as I read it, the trust where looking to have external people come up with ideas and put forward proposals. Re: Update from trust
Not surprising but massively disappointing. The board are a bunch of amateurs who IMO are more concerned with retaining their own status than in progressing the club. It really beggars belief that they’ve turned down this opportunity.
As I view it, this makes their position untenable.

Again, why do you blame Bloxham? He has one vote, the same as the rest of the board. Always baffles me as well. I used to know someone in the backroom staff and he said other teams didn’t like defending the PRE due to the slope and it was especially difficult to get the ball out of the corner nearest to Parklands. But this is all something to use to our advantage. I’m pretty sure that the year we won the Trop...

Never a dull moment in Flynn interviews. This week he’s going big on The Hill. I know there’s a slope at Whaddon Road but I don’t think I’ve ever heard any manager cite as a significant problem. Flynn seems to think it is for some our current crop of players though. Those players need to grow a pai...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Harrogate Town
I‘m not going to let a late goal change my overall view, which would certainly have seen the team booed off. Overall, it was a very poor game, we were really poor and didn‘t in any way deserve three points. First half was absolutely shocking, we were completely static. We picked up after the break w...
