Re: Flynn talks
I agree, Si. Flynn and Cheltenham are a good fit for each other. When he came in we were at the start of a new cycle with lots of rebuilding to be done. He's the safe pair of hands that we need and has realistic expectations about what a club with our resources can and can't do. I'd predict a strong...

Re: Shadow board
Reading the statements of the candidates there's a lot of well meaning individuals and some with practical experience. It's practical experience that the club needs and people willing to do the work for scant reward. The club has always been run by directors, employees and volunteers who put in a lo...

Re: How to run a football club
The easy solution to increase trust membership is to draw liverpool man united or chelsea at home in the cup Prioty tickets go to share holders and season ticket holders Then old trust members ie members on the 1st Nov of the season New members after Nov (unless ST holders) £20 membership and extra...

Re: How to run a football club
Very interesting. I'll give it a watch in full when I can. Does anyone know exactly many members the Trust has? Based on the accounts filed in May 2023 they raised 3,401 from memberships which works out to 340 members. This was up from £1,449 from the previous year. The Trust do fantastic work and I...

I just saw on FB that one season wonder Dave Norton is 60 today. What a player he was during that 98/99 season and still looking in fantastic shape.
Here's his profile if you want to show some love today... https://www.facebook.com/david.norton.33046

I remember Mark Crisp. He was quite far down the pecking order as a striker in that side but one of those names that evokes memories of the best years following CTFC.
RIP.

Being a board member seems like a thankless task. I'd imagine 99% of supporters have no idea who the board are or their backgrounds or how much time they give for no remuneration (consider that this forum and regular Twitter posters are not representative of the +/- 4,000 who attend games regularly ...

Indeed, who are these "disgruntled" fans and what planet are they living on? I keep hearing people talk about wanting to see a plan or understand what the board's ambitions are. I'd say their ambition is to make sure we're a well-run sustainable club regardless of what level we're at. Peop...

10,000 plaques at £20 profit? I'll tell you where I am... I'm out. Seriously though, these could be ideas implemented by the Robins Trust. Ideas are easy to come up with but action requires proper study into viability to make it work. I think even getting a few hundred plaques would be a lot. I can'...

I like the cut of his jib. The squad needs a massive trim and rebuild in terms of culture (as he puts it) to meet the short term aim of survival but also the more realistic medium term aim of challenging for promotion out of League Two next season.

Another plug for the trust here. It's an absolute no brainer if you consider yourself a supporter. I can't think of a single reason NOT to join. A tenner a year is nothing. Consider it from the club's point of view. How seriously are they going to take the Trust if they only have, say, 500 members? ...

I think one of the main reasons the old crest was replaced was that it was very difficult to print or embroider onto merchandise and therefore something more minimal was deemed more suitable. Nowadays any kid with a computer can design a decent logo so maybe it's time the club asked for some submiss...

This is a great idea! 88 was a few years before I started following CTFC but might well buy this regardless. The best way to approach this is to make a list of all clubs to have played league football since 1999 and also non league at some point in their history and then look at whether we ever played them pre 1999. For example, we must surely have played Salford at some point in our non-league history.

I guess he's just neglected to edit LinkedIn to show that his employment at GRFC has finished.
