Re: 7 days to go

Well I'll be optimistic and say that we'll have three new faces before our first friendly, maybe before pre-season training even. A mixture of youngsters released by higher level clubs and experienced pros. Think we did well to have got Tommy Backwell in back in January, so a couple more as promisin...

Re: Interesting JP chat w/ Gab Sutton

If it is indeed Seppala (and I have no indication it is) I believe we all need to be cautious, as Si says her time at Coventry was very turbulent with a lot of investment in the playing side early followed by calamity off the field and then disaster on the field (the two are usually closely linked)...

Re: George Miller made available for transfer

Blimey the board have really stirred up a hornets nest by revealing that George Miller, who will surely go down in folklore as one of our greatest ever strikers, has been transfer listed to help pay the rent.
Compelling viewing and I can't wait for the next episode.

Re: George Miller made available for transfer

It used to be called wheeling and dealing. Does anybody really want to go into the season with George as our No 1 striker ? None of us know what's going on behind the scenes. A week of bad news none the less , but it'll only need one decent signing to change all that.......unless it's a centre back ...

Re: George Miller made available for transfer

Personally I'm won't be too disappointed if George does go. Our strikers didn't deliver last season so we need to ring the changes. Hardworking yes, but I don't see him as our No1 striker. As others have suggested it'll be difficult to off load Matty Taylor, good finisher that he is , but not a lone...

10 years?! I thought he'd been in the job for 20. Oh well, assume he's going to be getting more money. DC obviously liked him and poached him I assume. Kyler, the fitness guy is going to Rovers, but they've just appointed a Head of Medical so Gav is off elsewhere one assumes. A club fixture in an i...

Re: Bid turned down for Archer

From L1 club according to JP. At least its happening early in the transfer window. Exactly - if/when Archer and Thomas go, we have to source replacements for their creativity and goals - the lack of which was one of the reasons that led to our relegation from L1 a couple of seasons ago. More time t...

I didn't know this although many others might.

National League referees are paid £300 per match, assistants £150. In Leagues 1 & 2 these figures are £585 & £235.

I too am happy to pay my few quid to the Trust each year.
I don't know what the consensus of opinion is but I do sometimes wonder whether the 200k that was given to the club to gain a seat on the board has made as much difference as was hoped.

To be fair, I don't think many will without huge investment. We've got to a point where there are almost a top 2/3 in the premier league, then another 15, then the bottom three and the top 4/5 in the Championship. City's budget was absolutely tiny compared to Sheff Utd's and other ex-PL clubs, and ...
