Re: Former players
Did we know this about Marvin Brown? Not sure I did! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cly9rn95r20o Marvin has now sadly passed away. My thoughts are with Marvin’s two young girls and his partner Alexis, his wider family and all his friends at this very sad time. The ‘Go Fund Me’ fundraiser for t...

Imagine the reaction if we manage to get 3 points ok Saturday, be a real feel good factor around the club That said expecting alot of misguided "we'll be challenging the Championship in 3 years" Tactically, one of the things the Team will have to master on Saturday is the wind and rain. I...

Dyche and Garlick had a well noted falling out in their final years at Burnley. According to informed sources: Overall impression • For most of Dyche’s time under Garlick, the relationship was strong and allowed Burnley to achieve well above what many expected given their resources. • Tension seems...

Re: Something the board should read.
The new manager appointment will be a last roll of the EFL dice for this season - and if the Board get it wrong, we will have 3 seasons (including what remains of this season) of uncertainty, rebuilding and churn.

Sean Dyche.
No one would expect that. We need a miracle. Mike Garlick might just be the magician.
EDIT:
Just noticed this idea was already posted/predicted in another thread.

If I was GJ I’d be off anyway. Why would a man who’s achieved so much in his career have to put up with so much discrediting at his time in life. If it is true, then I wish you a long and happy retirement Gary. Your efforts in 2015/16 will never be forgotten here. Although I believe Gary had overst...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Accrington Stanley
Accrington, like us, are putting up a fight. Both defences worked hard to shut out threats, so it was good news Cheltenham’s defence kept a clean sheet, which they deserved. Hutchinson’s goal was sheer quality and Bristol Rovers’ (temporary?) loss is our gain. I can see signs of improvement, it’s no...

I thought our referee v Accrington performed at a very high standard throughout. She kept right up with play and was consistent with her decisions. Would be very happy to see her as referee at any Cheltenham game.

I thought young Freddy was excellent at Plymouth and again v Accrington. He’s a physical player who reads the game, stands his ground well, and he’s definitely in the Dave Bird mould. With the experience he’s gaining, he will only get better. We genuinely have a crop of youngsters coming through tha...

Re: Plymouth Argyle v Cheltenham Town
I enjoyed that second half. The youngsters were magnificent, Diallo grew in confidence very quickly and was my man of the match, the lad has a real future and I would have no qualms about him covering for an in-match injury to Day. I don’t ever recall us having so many home grown players that could ...

I get the feeling the ‘player recruitment and selling’ business model should have improved because of the new ownership. Previously, we had to sell our best players to survive. It may not be the case now, but reading between the lines, it is likely that someone has not done what was expected - most ...

On the subject of players who had Peterborough United and Cheltenham Town links: One of my favourite CTFC players of the last 20 years, a left footed goalscoring winger, with an exquisite ‘shimmy’ to go past defenders, was Josh Low. He didn’t enjoy his brief time at Peterborough United, so Jordan ne...

I will offer a slightly different perspective. I thought we competed well in the first half, but I feel sure everyone will agree we were playing against 12. Once the bookings started coming, we had too many players afraid to compete for fear of a red card. The second half gave us an opportunity to t...

I’m hoping the floodlights have been fixed. There were 5 lamps out on one of the floodlight rigs during the friendlies. Might not need them tomorrow of course, but the evening games will require full capability. Aren't they always like that? I don't think I can ever remember every lamp working. No,...

Delighted with this development. Well done CTFC Board.
I’m expecting to see Garlick Bread provided for every new signing, and with every main meal ordered in the Bar.
Henceforth it will be said that CTFC is running on Garlick Bread.
You heard it here first.

I thought Crewe made us look poor first half by not giving us any space to play in their half and then being rapid to counter attack us. Once they had to come out and try to play though we created a lot more going down to the home end. Also what an amazing save that was by Joe day first half, no id...

Swindle game was weird. Just after half time, we were smashed, completely dead and buried.
