A word too for Tomkins; first time I've seen him play. Calm, unhurried, tidy in possession & positionally solid. He's a find.

All the above misses the original point (God im getting dragged into an Internet squabble!) that Savage wasn't disrespectful to SC.

"anyone can be a decent manager if you got the money to spend.". That simply isn't true. History is littered with clubs (as is the current Premier League!) who spent big & failed ) ;Leeds around 2001, Rangers, Sunderland, Man Utd now, Spurs wastingthe Bale money....& in our own lea...

Re: Savage on Cotterill
He isn't disrespectful at all 'he's a brilliant manager '; how is that disrespectful? I don't like him much either, but he's decent about SC without being over the top.And of course he's going to say nonsense like ' we'll flatten them'. If it was our manager saying it about them we'd love it!

Re: The Messiah to return?
Just curious; where has Savage gone on record as being unhappy with the culture he inherited at FGR? I've looked hard & found nowt. What can't be argued is that RS (annoying as he is) is clearly doing a good job there, & that SC never seemed an entirely comfortable fit. Different methods per...

Also, from the squad list above Joe Hanks was never given a fair crack in my opinion especially as that astute judge Gary Johnson never fancied him. Our current squad looks thinner, but it's only September. We're redeemable, but the next appointment is VITAL.

....................Brady's interview (shown above elsewhere on here) was really 'modern' somehow; an analytical but pragmatic approach which MIGHT be just what we need. ......not entirely sure i was watching the same game then. Don't get me wrong, first 20 minutes they battered us; 0-3 wouldn't have flattered them at all. But we stuck at it, played some decent stuff on spells, scored a good goal, & ultimately the only thing that separated the sides was a (very)...

2 things..... 1. Quite agree about the front 4, In theory (of course!) George bustling about being a nuisance & creating gaps for the 3 behind him to exploit could work very well. 2. This particular Forest Green thing is a good initiative (I'm ignoring the AI nonsense for now). All clubs should ...

In defence of Aidan Keena 'Up there with the worst signings of all time' Bit harsh. In his first few months with us he looked the ideal foil for Alfie; slightly deep-lying (false 9?) allowing Alfie to run in behind, he could pick a pass & his first touch was good. Then Alfie left & he was ex...

The badge is contemporary & quickly recognisable & (honestly) not that important compared to other issues. If we are quibbling over pointless stuff in a highly opinionated way though (surely the point of a chat forum) the 'Robins' nickname irks me more....mainly due to the fact we are one of...

My daughter has just texted me to say Micheal Flynn is a done deal; no idea how she knows this , but she usually gets it right from her 'sources'. 100% agree with Jerry on this; short precarious career,as a player you are (probably ) going to be given a pay rise for your final few seasons without having to uproot home & family by goingto FGR. Be stranger if they turned it down, especially as we are (generously phrasing it) in a state of fl...

'twatting about with the likes of Oldham'. That would be Oldham who by every conceivable measure are a bigger club than we are; they currently average just under 7000 attendance wise, which we have never got near, they were founder members of the Premier League in the days when it was passably inter...

Haven't we a decent record with loanee centre halves? Off the top of my head Michael Hector , Rob Dickie, Cameron Burgess, Jamie Pollocks lad, Greaves. One of a similar quality would be nice in League 2.
