Re: See you at Stevenage!

Interesting early Stevenage team news from SportsMole.co.uk:- "The hosts have a lengthy list of absentees going into this match with the potential of up to eight players being absent due to injury and suspension. Dan Butler served the first of a three-game ban against Oxford United after being...

Re: Former players

Grant McCann a true Robins great. Really nice bloke too. Sat with him at an end of season dinner 20 years ago. One of the few good things Bobby Gould did during his time here was getting his permanent signing over the line from WHU. Best wishes Grant and hope to see you at Whaddon Road in League One...

Re: No programmes anymore

There was a fanzine in the mid-90's. Would have been '94 or '95 when I went into school on a Monday morning and my teacher had left his copy from the weekend on my desk for me. Stashed away in the attic somewhere at the moment but the front page was something about "Rushden Anne Diamonds"...

Tavon Campbell and Joss Labadie in the Solihull Moors side that beat Halifax (who included Luke Summerfield) 4-2 in the first of the National League play offs tonight.

Re: See you at Stevenage!

Remember going there in 1999 when we won the Conference. 2-2 draw and Bobby Bloomer sent off late on. Tidy stadium there that they’ve improved since then. Awful place to get to from Cheltenham though.

Re: Cheltenham Town v Peterborough United

It's definitely lacking and very noticeable how our midfield has improved when it's Bonds/Pett rather than Pett/Kinsella. Would love to see us add big powerful and pacy forward (similar to Jones for Posh) who can give us an outlet and let us play on the counter attack in the summer no matter which ...

Re: tonight

DC said yesterday we’d picked up more injuries on Saturday so be interesting to see what sort of team he’ll be able to send out. Terrible start, and looks like a poor end to the season too. No cup runs, manager possibly moving on, and now discontent the way the club is run by the board by some fans....

Re: TONIGHT: 2023/24 Club Annual Shareholders Meeting and Fans’ Forum

Difficult situation we are in. Most of us appreciate the hard work the board put in to running the club and keeping it on a fairly even keel most of the time. But somehow the board have to get extra investment into the club if we are to grow, which we all want, whether they can find that investment ...

Excellent performance but …… Burton were absolutely dire.
However did they win last Saturday? And a shame they are playing Fleetwood last day of the season but if they play like that they won’t get another point.

Re: Away fans

No doubt the FED/Robins Trust board are all over this. It’s a crush in the concourse and everyone is moaning about the lengthy queues in the CF when half of the facilities are not available. Best thing to do is demolish the whole ground and rebuild it with the pitch moved round 90 degrees. Improved ...

Re: Destiny is in our hands

I was sorry to see Thompson go too. But it was a case of balancing the books, DC wanted Kinsella, he'd worked with him before, was younger than Thompson who had been injury prone, and was out of contract in the summer anyway. Biggest error in the window was not signing an effective, League One stan...

Funny old night last night.
One minute everyone was getting right behind the team, next minute collective groans and a few sarcastic cheers.
Reminds me of the end of the 2014/15 season, and that didn’t end well did it.

Re: Leyton Orient v Cheltenham Town

No doubt that some of our players are now running out of steam. Pett for example looks a shadow of the player he was a few months ago. We are where we are because we are just not quite good enough for league one football, much of that has to be down to poor overall recruitment since last summer. Goo...

Re: An Idea to raise money

Yeah, I think it's a good idea. The Wall of Fame was a different thing, I just mentioned it as thing we've already done, albeit nearly a decade ago. A "brick in the wall" is a common feature at many clubs. Often as a memorial, but not exclusively. They are normally associated with the bui...

Re: Leyton Orient v Cheltenham Town

Shepherd unlucky. That’s the problem when you’ve got three left sided centre halves.
Shame we’ve not got more options on the right side, as a number of the goals we’ve conceded recently have come from the area between Smith and Davies.

Just been looking at a few pics of our fans in the crowd on social media from that day. Hardly recognise any of them and I’ve been a regular since the late 1960’s. We’ve had a pretty good record against Exeter over the years. Can’t recall many defeats or even draws at WR.

Four out of six

Who would have thought that four of the bottom six would win today? Mind you it’s a good time to be playing Bristol Rovers and Barnsley who are both fading rapidly. Looks like it’s four out of the bottom six for the drop unless Shrewsbury go on a really bad run. Biggest worry for me is do we have th...
