Re: Forest Green
Fingers crossed this form sticks for the next 3 months. They've only lost 3 but drawn 12 . The play-offs run so deep that they'll probably come good in April and easily win them.

Re: Made I laugh
That's quite humorous. Luckily Barrow didn't get a penalty against us on Saturday otherwise it might have happened at WR.
(I can't stand that Marc White, though. Absolute tool.)
Hopefully keep this thread going, post all the humorous bits and bobs we find here. Could do with a laugh...

Re: Upcoming referee appointments
Yeah, no games between 27th April 2024 and 4th January 2025, since when he has reffed 6 games and been fourth official for several others. The timings would indicate that maybe he just took the rest of the calendar year off for whatever reason, after the end of the 23/24 season. Otherwise, maybe it ...

Re: Upcoming referee appointments
Quite. And the caveat is that Ruebyn Ricardo is a really talented lower league official. Clearly on a path to PGMOL and the Premier League. He’s not representative of your average L2 ref. To be fair last Saturday's ref was not representative of your average L2 ref I think Jerry's "Primarily a ...

Well, I wouldn't go that far, they did reject his tents and his first plans for the outside dining area. Last thing the town needs is someone like Dunkerton being encouraged out of the town by being stupid with non-permanent structures, imo.

Re: Late Goals
That away win at Dover on BT Sport was a major moment. Awful game, going 1 down in about the 84th minute to an absolutel screamer. For 5 minutes, especially after the 84 minutes before that, it felt like we were about to hand the initiative to FGR and Grimsby. Then boom. Wright, 88, 89. I think that...

Fair. If I remember correctly, that's also what did for him at Gillingham when he spilled the ball to their striker, which was his first real mistake of the season.

Re: Cheltenham Town v Barrow
It was definitely a 4-4-2 of some variation, on paper, but there were a few players who were quite fluid. Young was the only one holding. Archer was deep at times and high others. Williams and Thomas were switching, and Hay was also tracking back, leaving Taylor up top on his own. A few times, Taylo...

Re: Former players
Sam Foley scored for Barrow today. Is that the first time he's scored against us? 19 or so years since he left. I'm definitely going to say it's the longest after a player left the club that the player has scored against us. Also, who was the last former player to score against us? Feels like it's ...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Barrow
People have been slagging him off but I thought Matty did similar to what he normally does today. He makes a nuisance of himself. The difference was we created a couple of chances for him. I think I said as much last week, that if we actually made a chance or two for him he might be able to do somet...

Awful, isn't it. We need to speed things up. Bradbury has come to a standstill on the ball far too many times. Did Day mess up again? 500 x 8 = 4000, so a 4000 seater main stand at WR will cost 350k x 8 = 2.8m, right? Right?!

1 defeat in 13 at home, 6 wins in the last 7. And now Barrow, who have beaten us the last 3 times we have played them, including doing the double over us the season we won L2. One point and one place between us.
Who knows, but it should obviously be a home win.

Re: Gary and loans
Personally, I'd tweak the rules so there's no recall on a season-long loan unless it's mutually agreed when brought up by the loanee club because the loan isn't working out for one reason or another. Sure, it might just make loans 6 months, but at least clubs will know where they stand then.

Re: Archer in midfield
I would argue that we shouldn't be looking to follow what everybody else is doing. Formations and styles go in and out of fashion as they're found out. Maybe we should try something currently unfashionable as it may be the next big thing.
