Re: Women's Euros
I was thinking it was a mirror of the France game - poor performance from England, awful officiating, outclassed. Then things started going in our favour once Kelly came on. Never seen a ref getting in the way and flattened twice in one game before. The penalties couldn't have been more telegraphed,...

Or now Matty Taylor's wages have freed up a chunk, there may be one or two that we can get over the line. Not expecting any imminently though, as JP is usually ahead of these things.

The club have confirmed Matty Taylor has left on a permanent transfer to Salisbury. Assume no fee, just wages off the bill.

Re: Voting age to be lowered to 16yo
The best argument against it that I've heard actually came from Farage in ITV News - at 16 you can't stand for election, so you shouldn't be able to vote either. The chances are the votes of 16 and 17 year olds who do choose to vote won't make any difference anyway. It just seems like such a despera...

Re: Voting age to be lowered to 16yo
Agreed with you both that it won't benefit Labour. But the point of principle of lowering the voting age is still the right thing to do, imho. I don't see how you can have a say on who runs the country if you can't legally buy alcohol. Yeah, we trust you to choose who runs the country, but we don't...

I think this will backfire on Labour big time. The youth are as unhappy with the state of the country as the rest of us.

I'm sure there are some pensioners for whom their only source of income is their state pension. I must say, however, I don't know any of them. Most of the pensioners I know have three foreign holidays a year and live extremely comfortably - but the idea of means-testing the state pension would prob...

I dunno about 'modest income' but I do know that 'high income' is absolutely nowhere near as high as most people might perceive - which will likely make 'modest' 30ish-49kpa. Why would we need to play away from Whaddon Road? The ground holds 5000 without that side it's just about enough for a full season whilst the new main stand is built. Also I don't think there has ever been a precedent of a club playing elsehwere whilst they redevelop once side of the ground? Becaus...

Didn't realise Broom had been released. What a stellar stint he had at Fleetwood... God forbid we get him back here, playing his best football again, just so that he can look for another club to join.
Not sure any on that list are going to improve us but they would bolster the ranks at least.

The Garlick situation muddies things but it still feels like mixed messages - Miller on the transfer list but we don't want him to go and it would take a significant offer to be accepted. Bit odd. Reading between the lines Flynn never transfer listed him but our Director of Football was shopping hi...

Maybe that's why Gav Crowe has moved on - we need some kind of miracle worker to come in. A godly person who can lay their hands on the injured and heal them.

Another reminder that life can end just like that, no matter who you are or how successful you are. RIP to a man who was just 28, with three kids, married less than two weeks ago, current Premier League and Nations League champion, and is gone just like that, along with his brother.

Want to support a club that punches above its weight and spends far more than it should on wages, plans a new stadium and hires high profile head coaches? Well there's one not too far from here that fits the bill nicely. I really think if they start to build that thing, that really may start to cau...

My point is WHY would we need one? It's only a few of you here that are getting stressed about it. Given he's the club secretary and this is obviously his job, and given we have a bare bones staff behind the scenes in order to squeeze every last penny we can into the playing budget, it's hardly surprising the club don't want to leave the registering of players to someone else who might make a mis...

I'm really not sure what the arguments are about here. We need investment in the team and a new main stand. Obviously we need the priority to be the shorter term investment in the team, and as a longer term investment, the main stand to be looked at in time. Anyway, my post was merely to show MG's h...
