Not sure if promotion or goals scored were part of that though.

£300k (just) for a striker that's scored 20+ (league) goals in the last three seasons.

Re: The rest of the season

I'm genuinely perplexed how advocating we splash out 20k is going to affect the sustainability of the club. How anyone can think a L1 club will soldier on with a strike force so short on numbers ( and quality). Remember we had NO strikers on the bench on Saturday. So you want a quality striker on a...

Re: Oxford United v Cheltenham Town

Totally agree. The board have left DC high and dry. They knew we were going to make a big loss and we needed the cash so they sold Alfie for peanuts (League One top scorer again!!) and cashed in on Goodwin because they felt that short-term money was preferable to goals and therefore League One surv...

El Glosico may well be back on next season :o Very bad decisions on the striker front over the last year has left us where we are. Always chasing the quick £ Totally agree. The board...

Poor passes, poor crosses and poor formation (again).

That said the defence weren't too bad and Sloggett better than I thought so maybe an option for league 2

Cheltenham Town (v Oxford United away): Southwood; Davies, Bradbury, Shepherd; Long (c), Pett, Sercombe, Kinsella, Ferry; Keena, Nuttall Come on then Aidan and Joe, your time has come. Would have loved to see Thomas start but doesn't really work unless we change formation. Considering performances ...

Re: Charlton.

I wish we had a midfield with some physicality and energy to compete for 90 mins. We don`t have the running ball carrying type in the squad, and the only one who had the ablity to do the ratting was Curtis Thompson who`s now at Grimsby.I like Bondsy but he gets caught in possession and doesn`t tack...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Burton Albion

I would start Nuttall and Keena on Tuesday. Think the forwards look completely gassed and need a break. Shake up the midfield too - Pett, Kinsella and Harrop. Would love to have Thomas on from the start but unless we change formation that won't happen. I think it's worth changing formation and star...

Re: Wycombe Wanderers v Cheltenham Town

Was one of those nights. We're not going to get points from every remaining game, in some we're going to struggle to look even a half-decent team. Six wins and a couple of draws is all we need now. Its going to be a bumpy ride. My disappointment is more that we didn't seem to learn from the mistake...

Re: Wycombe Wanderers v Cheltenham Town

Really poor performances. Shame really as quite a few of us made the trip and we're in good voice. The ref was awful but that's is no the norm. Luke was amazing and kept it respectable. I worry slightly that DC hesitates slightly. We could sense a goal for them andvthe subs were ready. We need to b...

Re: Darrell Clarke after Wycombe defeat

"searching for answers all night" - he was tactically bettered before a ball was even kicked.

If we had Sam Vokes or Ryan Street in our team it could have been a bit different but we didn't so we should have been setup in a different system.

Bit of a left field question but has anyone seen what signal Southwood gets to go down injured? is it just a hand up in the air from the dug out or something more theatrical that needs to be done for 5 minutes before he takes notice? Also to be fair to Wade, Keena still hasn't managed to score under DC, but DC obviously got others scoring. Wade did get a lot of bad luck, including the changes in the summer with the snakes slithering to Salop, and the players were still putting effort in for him, hence the mostly relatively clos...

To be fair to Wade we did have a proper injury crisis and an unfortunate run of hard games ......but yes DC has done a fantastic job and if we stay up he should be in the running for manager of the season (but will no doubt be given to Derby, Portsmouth or Bolton)
