Re: Farewells
DC will be going, DC has restored a level of confidence within himself, he will now be seeking a greater salary and bigger budget to work with. A great shame but he will leave the club and it looks like another season of rebuild. I have heard the rumour reference to a return of a former director of ...

The trouble is they've already been selling coach tickets at the standard rates before last night.
I understand the club have now requested additional coaches.

Re: 1887 Red Army - Block 8?
The red army over-spill appears to make up the corner of the C&G. It would have been useful to get another group in block 7 which is currently showing as empty. Seats not selling well, I wonder if this is a result of the discount for 2x terrace tickets with supporters instead opting for this opt...

An absolutely mammoth 3 fixtures to decide our League 1 destiny, which falls back into our hands.
2 homes games first up, leave any insecurities at the turnstiles, all 3 home sides need to be heard.
Lets fill it up.

Re: Cheltenham Town v Bristol Rovers
The key missing ingredient from then to now is the strikers, Goodwin and Street, or one of the 2 with Lloyd were able to compete well for each ball and even if we didn't win it there was always good pressure which enabled us to fall on a second ball and start another wave of attack.

Away fans
Should we go down, which looks increasingly likely by the week. Given the atmosphere that is created does not travel well and with the understanding that very few clubs would bring more than 700 away fans in League 2, is it finally time to give home fans both ends and incorporate the away support in...

Re: Darrell Clarke after Wycombe defeat
The defence may have been resolute and put bodies on the line but it was their shanks up to the strikers which were our downfall, we couldn't win a header or hold the ball up, and with the midfield sat deep we weren't collecting the second balls. We were inviting them onto us and got what we deserve...

Re: Wycombe Wanderers v Cheltenham Town
Another poor showing, after Wigan I'd have hoped for a reaction and an improved performance. What is clear is that Wycombe are better than us and dealt with us very comfortably. The tactic was bizarre, we were getting nowhere with the long punts to the strikers and we were too deep to pick up the se...

Re: Teams around us - Thread to season end
Reading expected to be deducted 2 more points. We’ll have to wait and see if it helps us. I’d rather we had back our own two points we binned against them. Obviously, however that is football and we were not good enough to win the match. Reading shaded the second 45. Anyway, this has to be seen as ...

Lloyd is going to struggle to play with the level of intensity he's shown for the remainder of the season.
We need legs who can press and chase down things down, Keena is a goalscorer and our best finisher but his style does not suit the way we are trying to play.

Re: Sligo Rovers show interest for
If Alfie goes to Birmingham for a sizeable fee then it squashes the clubs argument reference, "we got the best price we could." The Club ultimately set the value when they told Alfie the release clause. A huge error, no doubt Alfie told Charlton the number which was needed, if not it was a...

Intensity is key. We've got to get at these teams, be in their face, win battles and scrap it out.
I don't think it'll be a period of football for the purist, but we have to make some significant progress in catching and overtaking those above.

Re: Bristol Rovers v Cheltenham Town
A point is probably a fair outcome, we massively surrendered the initiative at the start of the second half. While we had our moments in the second half, with a few efforts over the bar and some set-pieces, perhaps in the end we were slightly relieved to hear the final whistle. A point is a decent e...

Agree with much of HamTown's predictions.
A right wing back, an attacking midfielder and a striker.
We've not had much luck with injuries so far this season, relative continuity within the 11 will be key if we have any chance.

Got my ticket today, weather look dry for the time of the match, which is great given the away end.
Little media noise on the injuries in midfield, DC cards close to his chest.

Re: The Points Per Game Equation
It isn't going to happen unfortunately, I am sure we will see improvements but this group is not good enough. Reinforcements will arrive, but the deficit is too much. I am glad Darrell Clarke is in now and has some time to address this, otherwise we are in serious threat of back to back relegations.

I am all for a positive mindset and clearly there are ample games to pull it back, however I just cannot see it. The group look on their knees, what a task for the new manager. I feel the midfield and defence can hold their own if the injury list allows, however the strike force is that of an averga...

I also buy into the C&G actually being ok for generating noise, I'm usually in the paddock and when it does get going. I.e. Sunderland last season and Ipswich too then the noise does travel and it does sound impressive. We simply do not have a fan base who will support using their voices on a re...

Big, strong and athletic with age on his side, it is an inevitability. Rae in theory could be a great signing to steady the midfield. We need Ferry fit and to stay fit so we can move Broom up the pitch. Who plays in the midfield when Broom, Sercombe, Bonds and Rae are all fit? We definitely go long too often, this generally comes from a high press where we don't have t...
