Re: 500 Club closure

Santander was one of the two banks still offering a free Community account when I looked a year ago. The other, I think, was Metro Bank. If they're now charging, I'm glad i stayed put. It's annoying, though.

Re: 500 Club closure

To add, virtually every bank has started applying charges on their so-called 'Community' bank accounts that many charities, not-for-profits and sports clubs use. When Lloyd's applied the charge at the beginning of the year, I looked around for a new home for my treasurer's account that I use for my ...

Re: 500 Club closure

That's a real shame, Steve - but thanks for all the hard work you and everyone else involved has put in over the years. It's certainly been a success.

It's a measure of the confidence we have that we won't feck it up by twisting too many times and losing one of those 'winnable' games.

Re: December

I know Liverpool fans who reluctantly admit Everton's new stadium is top-drawer - so there's another decent away day with a hope of getting something out of it.

STOPPIT!! We have to beat Buxton first - and, given our recent record against non-league teams, that ain't a foregone conclusion!

Re: Cheltenham Town v Bristol Rovers

Just flicking through the Gas Works forum while I wait for my car to be serviced: apparently, there was some kind of 'dust-up' between Rovers fans and ours on the way back to the railway station. Anyone heard about that? Speaking of dust-ups, DC apparently read the riot act to two of the Rovers firs...

Goalkeeper positioning

Raya and Richarlison perfectly demonstrating why I hate seeing goalkeepers standing midway in their own half of the field just because their team has possession. Same last week with Schmeichel for Denmark. I realise their job nowadays is almost more of an extra defender who is allowed to use his han...

Re: The Squad

I think that's pretty much spot on. At the start of the season, I quite liked the look of Mazionus and thought there was a player in there that we could make use of. Even Bakare has something about him. Angol, Pell and Cundy....absolutely not. I have no idea why anyone thought they were League stand...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Bristol Rovers

A great 3 points for us - but a fairly dreadful match between two struggling teams. We were beaten all over the pitch in the first half - yet Rovers barely had a shot apart from that one-on-one that Day saved. That said, we scored from pretty much our only shot on goal... Oh, and the referee had a s...

A word for the referee: I thought he had a good game and tried to let the game flow. If he made one mistake all match, I was surprised there was no pen when Day dithered about coming for the ball and *probably* caught the Tranmere player's face. TV replays seemed inconclusive, so would be harsh to s...
