Re: Deciding games

Put it this way: in a fight against relegation, would you rather have our run-in of 3 games or Burton's 2 games? I agree, I can't see them getting more than 1 point - but my point is, they *could* and it's far more likely than Vale winning both theirs - let alone us winning all three.

Re: Deciding games

Problem is, Burton could potentially get 6 points. Realistically, our best chance for a win is probably this weekend - it's hard to see us getting many more than 3 points from our last games, which are definitely the toughest of the set. We could easily get less than 3 points - and that leaves us ho...

My one bad sporting injury was a torn shoulder muscle: it stops you doing everything cos so many muscles appear to be connected... After doing that, I bent over the sink brushing my teeth and nearly collapsed on the floor.

Lloyd is the ideal second striker in a team that plays an energetic high press - a tactic which I would love for us to play. Obviously, Lloyd aside, we don't have the personnel to play that way.

Why did we lose?

I was ill (covid, if the result of the test kit that was beyond its expiration date is to be believed) so couldn't attend. So, objectively, why did we lose today? 1. We gave the Gas a handful of extra tickets. 2. The referee was corrupt. 3. The referee's grandfather used to fly a Bristol Beaufort du...

I hadn't commented earlier as I just felt that I would come across as negative - but 10k? Really? That's not 'optimistic' - that's 'pie in the sky'. This government is bent, our national utilities are bent, local councils are bent, big business is bent. To think that professional sport (in this country) is not bent is very very naive. I didn't say it doesn't exist at all, even at our level - but I'd be willing to bet that at least 99% of all de...

At this level? And to the extent some on this board believe it? Pretty much every time we lose, it's "oh, this ref is bent". Conversely, when we win, the ref hardly gets a mention!

My issue is that some on this board would have you believe that it's corruption rather than simple human error that causes decisions to go against us - which, I'm sorry, is utter nonsense. Are some officials at this level not very good at their job? Yes. Could the vast majority of keyboard warriors ...

The ref didn't cost us that game. I thought the pen was harsh - but the one he booked Thomas for diving...not sure he wasn't right, tbh. Thomas barely complained, and that was telling. Also, he didn't send off Nuttall for a pretty horrendous late challenge. What cost us was the fact that we had to w...
