Re: TONIGHT: 2023/24 Club Annual Shareholders Meeting and Fans’ Forum
I know people want us to be better, that's good and natural, of course I'd love us to be in the premier league. But for fans to ignore reality to such an extent puts the board and chairman in an impossible position. They could pave the cycle shelters in gold and some people still wouldn't be happy....

Re: TONIGHT: 2023/24 Club Annual Shareholders Meeting and Fans’ Forum
To be honest, I don't think it's as clear cut as "they don't have a plan". I just think they don't know how to communicate what they are doing. Bloxham seems a decent bloke, but he doesn't strike me as a leader or comfortable in public situations. Clive Gowing actually made a lot more sens...

Re: TONIGHT: 2023/24 Club Annual Shareholders Meeting and Fans’ Forum
For someone who complained at people getting personal on here not long ago, you seem to get quite personal about someone I doubt you've ever met. Mark does buy tickets, he buys at least two season tickets and when he's not on media duties still attends games (he went to Carlisle as a fan). He wasn't...

Re: Tom King
Except not a single person has said if he's on the bench then he'll be expected to come on and make an impact. What's been said is that he is one of two fully fit forwards and has a contract as a professional footballer so there should be a space for him on the bench in case the other forwards go do...

Re: Tom King
He was on the bench at the start of the season and even came on a few times but he's nowhere near ready for league one, still a kid in terms of physical frame so we all need to temper our expectations a bit there. I'm not sure suggesting one of only two fully fit forwards in the whole squad have a ...

Re: Steve Evans
I feel that is very favourable for us as I highly doubt they will have a new manager in place at that point and players will be less motivated. Alex Revell is in interim charge for the final couple of games. He oversaw their relegation from League 2 a couple of years ago, which they were reprieved ...

Steve Evans has left Stevenage to take over at Rotherham.
Not sure if this is a good or bad thing - Stevenage's form had nose-dived.

Well at least we've done our bit to cheer up Robins fans in what has been a tough year for football in the Shire. I doubt we'll be back in the EFL anytime soon, as Vince won't learn from his mistakes. Genuinely sorry for you Chris - you're a sound lad (on here and TFF). Now - if admin hasn't change...

A brilliant second half performance. Nuttall, Thomas and Taylor were outstanding, but everyone else on the pitch really put a shift in as well.

Re: Destiny is in our hands
I was sorry to see Thompson go too. But it was a case of balancing the books, DC wanted Kinsella, he'd worked with him before, was younger than Thompson who had been injury prone, and was out of contract in the summer anyway. Biggest error in the window was not signing an effective, League One stan...

Re: Destiny is in our hands
I've made it clear for some time that I don't believe the first 11 games is an excuse for relegation. We have had a lot of false dawns this season, and numerous opportunities to get out of the bottom four.
Unfortunately, we just seem unable to make that final step up.

Re: Cheltenham Town v Bristol Rovers
How have they been undermined by the board? I agree with everything else you say, especially confidence being a fragile thing. We had an up and at 'em mentality for a few months and I remember saying after we beat Oxford that every game has to be a battle for us. It's up to other teams to match us i...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Bristol Rovers
Despite what some will have you believe, we'll have one of the lowest budgets next season regardless of what division we're in.
The club is skint and has no facility to make money outside of football itself. Staying in League One every season is a miracle.

Re: Huff n puff but no quality
For me, all this began with the disastrous five minutes at home to Reading. If you're going back to that, why not 10 or so days earlier when we lost a 1-0 lead in the 89th minute and lost 2-1 to Orient. I wasn’t at that game so didn’t get any vibes from it. Did we destroy Orient as much as we were ...

When did he do that? I must have missed it totally, I remember him pulling out of a challenge at least once in the first half. He probably wasn't the worst player but it his body language and lack of ability were clear he isn't contributing enough. You obviously did miss it. Was clear as day on ifo...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Carlisle United
We've been relegated twice from this division. The first time we were going straight down until Gould walked and Wardy stabilised us - eventually pushing us up to midtable. The second time we survived relegation on the last day of the season (albeit other results needed to go against us). Your comme...

I think he tries, he just seems to have lead in his boots.
I agree, he was on a hiding to nothing unless he hit the ground running with us, but he didn't deserve singling out on Tuesday.

I was at the game. The ironic jeers he received were in in sarcastic jest. One of the tallest and most athletic players on the pitch only won 2 headers...both unopposed. My 14 year old daughter would best him in the air. I became frustrated too...when he stopped jumping! We all like to be melodrama...

Re: Darrel Clarke after Carlisle defeat
The reaction was down to the fact that despite it almost working against Exeter, DC still went with the tried and trusted 5-3-2 against Orient.
To decide to change the starting formation for such a big game, making 5 changes to the starting lineup was a surprise.

Re: Darrel Clarke after Carlisle defeat
“keep it simple” by changing to a new formation with a day on the training pitch prior to the game. Why not just use the same system that pushed Exeter in the 2nd half? I also don’t understand why he continued a whole half when it was quite obvious it wasn’t working after ten minutes? The system we...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Carlisle United
I don't think there was anything wrong with 4231, we just didn't play it properly. For 10 mins we looked fine, then resorted to hoof ball for some reason.
The same happened against Wycombe. We started well, then went into hoof mode after we conceded.

Re: Squad rebuild this summer
I don't agree with that. I think if Keena can get the right partner, he can be brilliant in League 2. If he can work something out with Street in the summer for example. I agree with Jim. Add a decent target man to Keena, Street and Taylor, with a young nippy loanee then the forward line may not be ...

Of course - which is why I understand your point.
At first it was looking a blinding bit of business because Taylor was scoring whilst Goodwin was injured at Oxford. Then Taylor got injured as well.
