Re: TONIGHT: 2023/24 Club Annual Shareholders Meeting and Fans’ Forum
I know people want us to be better, that's good and natural, of course I'd love us to be in the premier league. But for fans to ignore reality to such an extent puts the board and chairman in an impossible position. They could pave the cycle shelters in gold and some people still wouldn't be happy....

Re: TONIGHT: 2023/24 Club Annual Shareholders Meeting and Fans’ Forum
Do we really want American investment though Robin?? I don’t. It’s ruining the game and when matches start being played over there then you’ll regret it. The bigger question which I would expect the board to answer is given that is happening a) are we considering b) why do we think that it's right/...

Re: TONIGHT: 2023/24 Club Annual Shareholders Meeting and Fans’ Forum
For someone who complained at people getting personal on here not long ago, you seem to get quite personal about someone I doubt you've ever met. Mark does buy tickets, he buys at least two season tickets and when he's not on media duties still attends games (he went to Carlisle as a fan). He wasn'...

Re: TONIGHT: 2023/24 Club Annual Shareholders Meeting and Fans’ Forum
DC will be gone by May simply because there is no plan. I see both sides. Supporters want to see the club spend but the club doesn't have the money and will not spend money they don't have (and rightly so). Bloxham is a good bloke with best intentions and although he came up short of answers last n...

Re: TONIGHT: 2023/24 Club Annual Shareholders Meeting and Fans’ Forum
As I wrote some time ago we are a club ran by well intentioned amatuers, I'm even more concerned after watching that tonight. Tell us why for those who missed it? Huge differences between the fans, manager and board. Darrell Clarke asked if he will stay beyond this season and is non-committal. He s...

Re: Shrewsbury big loss
I assume that your second point is all about tax avoidance. If the player paid the agent he would have to pay the VAT on the transaction. As the club and the agent are VAT registered, both can claim it back. And if two clubs want the same player one can gazzump the other by offering to pay fees. An...

He was on the bench at the start of the season and even came on a few times but he's nowhere near ready for league one, still a kid in terms of physical frame so we all need to temper our expectations a bit there. I'm not sure suggesting one of only two fully fit forwards in the whole squad have a ...

It really is a case of who is the least worst of the three of us and form wise Burton and Vale are worse than us. Contrary to what is written above I fear Saturday is the hardest of our three remaining fixtures the other two we are capable of getting something from a Posh side who will have nothing ...

Re: Destiny is in our hands
Yes this has turned out to be a very frustrating season all round and I personally cannot wait for it to be over. In my opinion this has easily been the weakest League 1 of the three seasons we have been in it and even taking into account our bad summer, catastrophic start and squad limitations we ...

Re: Destiny is in our hands
I was sorry to see Thompson go too. But it was a case of balancing the books, DC wanted Kinsella, he'd worked with him before, was younger than Thompson who had been injury prone, and was out of contract in the summer anyway. Biggest error in the window was not signing an effective, League One stan...

Re: FFS JUST WIN!!!+
Anything less than an a win today and we need snookers, even with a win it's going to be tough I fear as it will mean we need to beat at least one of Posh, Lincoln or Stevenage and recent form suggests that's very unlikely.

Ideally we keep him another season and loan him higher up the pyramid. He's very young and perhaps he could even be understudy now for first choice right wing back. That said, I could see Clarke releasing him as he seems to favour experience. Regarding Liggett if he was getting a contract surely it ...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Bristol Rovers
Lloyd's value to the team is his energy, chasing, tenacity, winning the ball, and setting up goalscoring chances. I agree, it would be great if he also scored a few goals as well, though I suspect if he did, we would struggle to hold on to him! Therein lies the frustration of supporting a club like...

The FA have released club by club spend on agents for the last year. No surprise we are the lowest in L1. https://www.thefa.com/-/media/thefacom-new/files/rules-and-regulations/2023-24/12042024/v3/football-agent-fees-2023-2024.ashx Being pedantic but we are second lowest, behind Carlisle. Re: Why did we lose?
The last two games have reeked of a group of players who know no longer believe they can stay up, most of which know they won't be here next season and a manager who has lost focus on what made us successful and instead is tinkering constantly to find another way. All of which is a perfect storm of ...

Also please explain why Kinsella drifted between playing left wing back and central midfield leaving huge space for the opposition as he went. Equally why Brizzle j...

Yeh, e specially when he had actually won some headers and had held it up and shown some footwork but had no one near him in support. Not what the team needs from fans in the last five games. Booing your own players during crucial games in a run-in is pretty dumb. When did he do that? I must have m...

We've been relegated twice from this division. The first time we were going straight down until Gould walked and Wardy stabilised us - eventually pushing us up to midtable. The second time we survived relegation on the last day of the season (albeit other results needed to go against us). Your comm...

A poor result and another poor game of football we've seen this season despite win or lose. Despite being in L1, feels like the amount of competitive games we've seen down WR have been severely limited other than Wigan, Reading, Oxford, Port Vale and Portsmouth. There will be a good handful of club...

We started with 3 up front yesterday Horlick and none of them looked like they knew how to play with each other. Harrop was lost so started coming to the wing to get the ball, Thomas was double marked and looked like a kid in mens football whilst whilst Nuttall didn't win a header or a flick on to t...

I don't agree with that. I think if Keena can get the right partner, he can be brilliant in League 2. If he can work something out with Street in the summer for example. I agree with Jim. Add a decent target man to Keena, Street and Taylor, with a young nippy loanee then the forward line may not be...

I'm not sure they would be modest. He's on a pretty decent wedge at Oldham (more than any of our current team). I read somewhere that Oldham have the largest wage bill in the national league but this article suggests it's £1.5million which is lower than ours (as you'd expect given the huge gulf in ...

A question: Who would be happy if we signed Nuttall in the summer on a one or two year deal, assuming his form and performance levels improve a little more in the last 6 games and he grabs another goal or two? I'd imagine his demands would be modest. Like it or not, these are the type of deals we m...

We probably can't hold onto them, but the only ones I would want to keep next season are Southwood, Freestone & Ferry. Plus young Thomas of course. The rest just aren't good enough even for League 2. Johnson style rebuilding project required, if Darrell is up to the job? The problem is we had a...

Re: Huff n puff but no quality
That was utterly disgraceful. A team of total strangers clearly lacking confidence, belief and in some cases ability. Clarke has been amazing for us but he got the team selection so very wrong last night. The only positive was the substitutions who improved us albeit from an extremely low baseline.

Regarding Thomas I suspect his move was at least partially influenced by the fact our former chairman has been a sponsor down at Bath and been quite involved with the club. It seems we didn't pay a big fee for him either.
