Re: Burton Albion v Cheltenham Town

Southwood: kicks the ball with his left foot, goes down holding his right foot.

Commentators: that's the foot he's been trying to avoid kicking with because of his injured toe.

Me: what?

But you can score with it! And it's pretty hard to run with a shoulder injury. Especially if it's a bad one.

Jesus, our commentators are so clueless. If they spent less time looking at the latest scores of other games they might know wtf is happening on and around the stadium they're in.

Re: FFS JUST WIN!!!+

Just seen that Burton have lost their last 7 home games. Time for CTFC to do what they do best - step in and dutifully end the opposition's bad run! If only this was just a this season thing, but it's happened for as long as I can remember going to CTFC games. We used to also be good at breaking op...

His players could take a bollocking and use it constructively in the past. Things have changed. You can't just shout at players any more, they get offended... That lot up there obviously have a strop and can't cope mentally. Again, mis-management from the top, recruiting the wrong players on stupid ...

Sorry, this 'member' is fully expecting another tepid performance and poor result, helped by more terrible officiating. Will obviously be pleasantly surprised if the outcome is otherwise. Luckily, none of the players will be (or bloody well shouldn't be) looking on here.

I'm almost half tempted to go through all of the match day threads from this season and see how many times i've mentioned a s#!t decision going against us from a ref/big calls that have gone against us when it looked impossible to not give it. But as it won't make any difference, I won't  The n...

Re: FFS JUST WIN!!!+

I'm actually surprised anyone still believes that we've even got a chance. Even if we do somehow get some luck or, God forbid, put in a performance and win tonight, I'm personally of the opinion that we're already down, given the last 3 fixtures. I'm tired of having renewed hope only for it to be da...

Although Wycombe at home on 3rd February was the first properly poor performance in a while, 23rd February is when everything seemed to turn against us. The 1-1 draw at Wigan. We had ridden out the bad decisions away at Derby and Bolton and the mess of that Wycombe game and had just won 3 in a row. ...

Methinks it's a little late to get the stadium rocking this season - this should have happened by Easter Monday at the latest. But, in the spirit of things... "Down" (311 song), 1996 "Down" (Blink-182 song), 2003 "Down" (Fifth Harmony song), 2017 "Down" (Jay S...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Bristol Rovers

No way I'd be thinking about letting Clarke go. Last 2 games he's got wrong yes, but maybe we're simply a poor side and it's only DC's miracle work that's put us anywhere near safety. Not sure. He had a team that was doing pretty well, but they've turned to utter s#!t and he can't seem to sort them...

I know everything seems worse when you're doing s#!t. But at half time, where's the music? Jim Haggin didn't even commentate on the crossbar challenge, just quickly read out the names half way through. Everything seems so f#!$ amateur right now in every department.

Re: Cheltenham Town v Bristol Rovers

The goalkeeper seems to actually be injured for once, the defence is an absolute mess, the midfield is virtually non-existant and the strikers haven't had a touch around the opposition penalty box, and both of our relegation rivals are winning. Other than that, it's fine.

"How s#!t must you be, we've scored a goal" might be sung first. Also, on the Wade comment, it's pretty accurate. First 12 games we were c!#p. Next 24 we were a top half team. Final 12, so far, back to the same dross as the first quarter. Although we are scoring the odd goal now, a lot of ...

Something else that popped into my head; if this game had been played when it was scheduled, it would have almost certainly been 3 points to us. I'd just have Kinsella or Bonds holding, with Sercombe and Harrop buzzing in and around behind the "strikers", one or t'other dropping deep to get the ball when necessary. The Gas haven't scored for 8 games, do we need 2 holding defenders in front of 3 centre backs? We need goals... It rea...

He's in a lose-lose situation. Not sticking up for DC, per se, as he shouldn't have bothered waiting for half time again when it obviously wasn't working. But, if he'd left it as it was again, and we'd played the same way as we did in the first half against Exeter and Orient, then he'd be getting st...
