Just seen this on the official site:

“NEW WALK OUT SONG

Once again we have been working closely with music producer Nigel Groom, who has composed a new walk out song 'March of the Robins' to accompany the players emerging from the tunnel this season as they compete in League One for the first time in 12 years.”

Martin Allen changed the music, I recall, before it was switched back.

I thought for a sec that Ken Dodd had been consigned to the bin when the fans were walking out of the stadium...

Hopefully A Windmill in Old Amsterdam is maintained as a pre-match song even if not the walk out song.

Like at Newcastle they play a traditional folk song which the fans sing along too before the main walk out song.

Do Newcastle still play the theme from the film, local hero, by Mark Knopfler?

Yup, that’s the walk out song. Audible on Match of The Day.

Impressed.
Very classy.

As an aside I hadn't realised that Watford, in addition to Everton, use the theme from Z cars.

Thanks Shade - on high quality speakers, it is a good track! With our PA systems however... it could be interesting!

I thought it was a bit over the top.
We're watching league 1 football not the return of the messiah

Interesting. To my ear different layers of the track draw inspiration from some of the other well known walk out songs (Dance of The Knights, Lux Aterna, The Messiah, Wake Up, etc) but being an original composition it won’t be a track used previously or subsequently in film and TV which is good.

I was very impressed with it. An original piece of music, definitely something different to other clubs

Was it played at the game? If so it was inaudible in the middle of the CF.

It was played...but the PA system didn't do it justice.
