Don't want to bother the ticket office staff with this, and potentially give the game away if it's not kosher :D

Does anyone know from experience, if someone has a senior season ticket but can't go to a game, can someone who isn't a senior use the ticket or pay a "top up"? Don't really want to rock up on the day and chance it without sounding people out first, with not being able to buy on the turnstile anymore.

Thanks

I believe you can go into the Ticket Office with it and ask them to upgrade it to the "correct" adult level ticket (paying the difference) and they stamp / mark it in some way for you to then use it.

do you really think they check tickets at the turnstile  You can hardly read what's on them anyway.

They never used to, but with new turnstile handlers I noticed the lad looking quite intently last Saturday.

The ticket quite clearly says "Senior" on it, lack of ink or no. And yes, they usually look down at the ticket as they tear it. Or at least they do when I go in.

Who cares if they check it or not…using the ticket is defrauding and/or stealing from the Club one supposedly supports.

Whilst you're right, it's also an opportunity for someone who might not consider paying £28 for a ticket to watch the game at a discount (when the ticket is going free anyway) to watch the Robins and then potentially come again in future paying full price.

They might also buy a programme, a 50/50 ticket (if the Trust are still doing them) and a scarf. They might enjoy it that much, that they decide to sponsor a player, or buy an advertising board if they own their own company.

All because a spare senior citizen/u16 ticket was going unused.

Paying the top up is still going at a discount. I don’t know the price difference but say you have to pay £10 to convert a senior citizen ticket into an adult ticket then that is a good deal as you get in for £10 rather than £28.

To remain the voice of reality and reason and politeness - I have to say that is a logical, correct and well argued point.

My last season ticket (a while ago, now...) definitely said "non-transferable" on it. But I do think the ticket office will try to be accommodating.

Turns out to be a moot point as the ticket is going be used by its owner after all on this occasion, but thanks for your thoughts and opinions.
