I'd go along with this except I'd have Michael Hector over Richard Keogh and Steve Gillespie over John Marquis. I'd arguably have Grant McCann over Karl Henry as well, but he was on loan as a left-back and I think Garbutt was a better left-back.RegencyCheltenhamSpa wrote:1:

Gillespie and McCann were also permanent signings, not just loans. The questions were players who were only ever loans.Si Robin wrote:I'd go along with this except I'd have Michael Hector over Richard Keogh and Steve Gillespie over John Marquis. Neville Southall's appearance was in a testimonial - so does it really count? I'd put Martin Thomas (Wales) in anyway. Not because he was a better goalkeeper than Nev, but for the simple reason that he was way too good for the Southern League Prem.Si Robin wrote:2. 3-5-2

And nominate Yuri Berchiche as the LW(back), if appearances for the Basque team count.
Might want to re-read the question - it says just players who have been on loan to us, not players who have just been on loan to us. Both McCann and Gillespie have been on loan to us and were then made permanent signings at later dates.RegencyCheltenhamSpa wrote:Gillespie and McCann were also permanent signings, not just loans. Given the load clarification, then Martin Thomas is out.....and Southall was "loaned" to us by the opposition in a friendly!Artemis wrote:Neville Southall's appearance was in a testimonial - so does it really count?
