With lockdown on the go and Christmas presents opened, some people must have some good reads on the go.

I just finished the novel Summerwater which I got for Christmas, and before that the business book Banking On It which I started a couple of days before Christmas.

Prior to that I finished the latest Le Carre shortly before he passed.

A few other books received for Christmas, which I will select from tomorrow.

What are other people reading currently and/or anyone read the above?

I took the chance over the long summer to revisit some old favourites, to kill a mocking bird, catcher in the rye and 3 men in a boat and The Tin Drum among them. Currently following a theme and mid way through The Plague. Next up is Finnegans Wake, mainly to see if I can make any more sense of it than I did 30 odd years ago

Classics. As an adult I have never really felt like re-reading books...would you recommend doing so?

Different reader different view I guess, I probably would not advise it for a who done it. However, have to say I have enjoyed revisiting them after all these years. Hopefully getting something different out of them after a few more years of life's experiences on me.
One genre I do revisit often is a good biography. just being nosey :)

The Tin Drum? I'm impressed! I saw the subtitled film waaaaaaayyy back when Channel 4 was a new thing and they used to show some cracking late night films introduced by Jean Luc Goddard. Over the course of a number of weeks scouring second hand book shops across Lincolnshire, I eventually managed to find a translated copy that still occupies space on my bookshelf.

Betty Blue was in the same series of films - that was pretty good, also... ;)
