Cheltenham have contacted Tranmere about the availability of strikers Cole Stockton and Eliot Richards.
According to a friend of mine who works at Tranmere that both are surplus to requirements and are wanted off the wage bill. Rob Edwards has worked with both this season during his time at Tranmere. Edwards has also worked with Richards last season at Exeter.
CTFC are keen on both, however only on loan while TRFC want permanent deals.
Richards was signed last summer from Bristol Rovers becoming Rob Edwards first signing as Tranmere manager. Since the sacking of Edwards in October, Richards has found games hard to come by under Micky Adams. A lot of fans feel it's harsh as he's been found guilty by association with Rob Edwards, and we haven't really seen enough of him.
As for Cole Stockton he's been at the club for a number of years. Having came through the youth system Cole scored plenty which raised expectation at the club. After relegation last year people placed their faith in him despite him only being 20. He got off to a decent start this year and has scored 6 league goals this season but has fell out of favour recently.
Two good players at this level and both capable of finding the net.
Cheltenham enquire about duo

Yes, we have 5 on loan - 4 on an initial month (3 from Liverpool, 1 from Palace) and 1 season long from Peterborough.Tranmere Exile wrote:Why? Have you got the maximum number in on loan?tommycollins123 wrote:We can't have anymore loans though????

Why are we going for players that are surplus to requirements from a team that are below us?

I've heard a few whispers about Elliot Richards as well. Tranmere have brought back Iain Hume today which pushes Richards further down the pecking order there.
Iain Hume is a great signing for League 2. We're in trouble if teams below us are signing players of that calibre! We desparately need to spend Byrons wages on an experienced name up front.I-Love-CTFC wrote:I've heard a few whispers about Elliot Richards as well. I'd definitely take Odejayi back. Tranmere have made some excellent signings in this window.
I look at some of these goals scored by other teams on youtube or on the FLS and I often find myself thinking "why does nobody ever defend that badly against us?" When was the last time a team gave us a complete gimme, or had a terrible day in defence?Nesty wrote:i'd rather have this fella
