Heartbreak for TNS

Talk about other football teams at all levels. AND ANY Glos City related threads, even if talking about the groundsharing.

The New Saints of Oswestry Town & Llansantffraid Football Club have done themselves and British Football proud.

5-3 up on aggregate against Viktoria Plzen before conceding on 85 and 91 mins to draw 5-5 before playing out extra time and losing on penalties.

Seconds away from what would have been the best result by a Welsh side in Europe in my living memory.

Stopped being called Total Network Solutions FC in 2005 or 2006 when the company who sponsored them (Total Network Solutions) was bought out and the sponsorship ended.

Oswestry Town had already merged with TNS a few years prior in 2003.

Can see them desperately discussing what they could rename the team back in the day, needing to keep the TNS initials. Wonder how long it took before they came up with "The New Saints".
