Crikey, that is quite a coup. He's a very very promising youngster with some decent stats at U23 level.

I will be glad when this one is confirmed. Lots of Villa fans on twitter cannot believe we have got him.

Let's hope he's better than the last couple we have from Villa because they don't usually do all that much when they're here.

Yes, that Vassilev was a disappointment would be an understatement.

Jake Doyle Hayes showed glimpses of real quality though. I was disappointed when didn't sign up on his departure from Villa.

Ah yes, Doyle-Hayes was decent. I was thinking about the centre back, Suliman as well as Vassilev.

There’s the overrated kid Ipswich got from Villa as well. Barrie, or something?

This is probably the riskiest/most uncertain of our signings.

Suggests TP will not be returning?

Least experienced and most unknown, in terms of league experience.

J Ramsey is playing for Villa against Man U this evening - Aaron’s brother?

I've been offline about three or four days... but have I not read somewhere that TP is done and dusted... (i.e. not coming back)?

That said, just happy to get another post credit... with an imagined outcome?

Pretty sure MD said something along the lines of "if he's not going to be able to come back until the end of Feb, there's probably no point."

He's said we were still waiting to hear, but his tone sounded very much like TP won't be back and we'll see if he's available in the summer.

From what I've seen online, Ramsey could be an inspired signing. Rated very highly by Villa fans.

Louie Barry is the lad who was at Ipswich on loan and who played very little for them. Who knows why, but you only have to watch him in the FA Cup game Vs Liverpool last season to know he's got talent.

Jacob Ramsey is Aaron's elder brother.
I agree that with it being his first loan period, there is a considerable element of risk. He might not cope with the physical side or pace of L1 football, or travelling to Cheltenham from home. Then again, he may shine.

I do think it reflects well on our reputation as a club that Villa trust one of their prize assets to us for a first loan spell, just as Leicester did with Callum Wright last season.

Ramsey’s interview with Joycie in the link above….Seems a decent and ambitious guy. Looking forward to seeing him play.

My brother in law is a season ticket at villa.
He told me last night Aaron is regarded as the best of the bunch between the brothers.
Bear in mind his brother ran the midfield against UTD midweek.

I hope he is as good as he says!
