Time flies!
It's the final qualifying round tomorrow and then First round draw time again - not sure exactly when because shockingly it doesn't seem to say on the FA website.
We've only 3 matches before the w/e 4th November ties are played so will we still be in DC's honeymoon period?
After the Alvechurch debacle any team we get is a losable tie at the moment.

Looking at potential derby-ish games from teams in the fourth qual.
Weston, Yeovil, Bath, Kidderminster, Stourbridge, Oxford City, and Hereford all play tomorrow.
There are a few Step 7 vs Step 8 games, which will provide the lowest ranked sides in the First Round. For example:
AFC Totton vs Ramsgate
Cray Valley Paper Mills vs Enfield Town
Billericay Town vs Sheppey United

First round draw is not regionalised so we could get someone like Grimsby or Barrow away.
Whoever we get I doubt we’ll be in round two, and that will end our interest in the cup competitions this season, with the subsequent loss of potential revenue.
But you never know. We could be at Old Trafford or Anfield in January.

I fancy Cray Valley Paper Mills at home. If they make loo rolls it could be back to the days when loo rolls were chucked on the pitch instead of flares. Luke could run down the clock rolling them back up.

I assume if Robbie Savage’s Macclesfield FC get through tomorrow and get a home draw that they will be on TV.

I used to crave a local derby or interesting away game in these early rounds. But with the predicament we’re in, the lowest possible ranked teams at home and pray we somehow manage to scrape into the third round and get a cash windfall away at a big Prem club.
I cannot stand that dullard, how the BBC still employ him is quite something.RegencyCheltenhamSpa wrote: ↑13 Oct 2023, 09:54 I assume if Robbie Savage’s Macclesfield FC get through tomorrow and get a home draw that they will be on TV.
I was thinking the same.
If we're drawn away to a non-league team we might get a tv slot as they love an upset ( or not in this case).

We’ll beat a Tier 6, 7 or 8 club no trouble. A 3-0 win could be just the tonic we need to build confidence.
Seem to remember similar predictions last November before Tier 7 Alvechurch turned up.RegencyCheltenhamSpa wrote: ↑13 Oct 2023, 16:13 We’ll beat a Tier 6, 7 or 8 club no trouble. A 3-0 win could be just the tonic we need to build confidence.

Dream draw a few miles up the road at Charlton for Cray Valley.
Yes it was 1990/91. We actually signed four - Mike Barrett, Mark Gennard, Frank Howarth and Tony Stuart.

It’s not a sh!t draw if we win the match.
The abject capitulation at Wimbledon in the Cup was an awful low point amidst Duff’s success.
Let’s hope it’s the reverse this time round and a win at Wimbledon is a high point in our disastrous season.

At least it doesn’t extend our appalling recent record against non-League teams which, I would suggest, is the worst in the League.

Could have been better, could have been worse.

It’s a banana skin for sure! The only positive for me is that I live not far away so I should be able to attend.
