Tom King has been mentioned on speculative sites, but not I don't think by JP, which your post erroneously implies.

Feel sorry for RM, forced into applying for a job he probably didn't want. He has helped various managers get a good tune out of the squads along the years

Maybe you're correct although I thought he applied of his own volition.
If he has been pushed out it's sad to see anyone as conscientious as Russ lose their job in their mid fifties.
That's football though I guess.

I'm afraid the fat lady has been tuning up for a while for Russ.

The awful, terrible loan signings last summer were on him, though there were extenuating circumstances. Many of the latter, generally successful, signings (Pett, Taylor etc) were entirely driven by Clarke.

His position is completely untenable, I'm pained to say.

Did we actually hear or see anything of him following his appointment? Really strange - a key position in the club but completely invisible. Shame for such a good servant.

All the best Russ.

Yes, he did an interview with Radio Glos before a game. Can't remember when it was, now, but that's all I remember from him all season. Not that we ever used to hear much from Moore.

I remember hearing that interview too. Rarely hear anything from the recruitment staff from any club. They generally seem to like to keep a low profile.

Anyway thanks for everything Russ, I remember when we played at Spurs he was sat right behind me, I looked at him, pointed at the pitch and said you should be out there! Cue a great big smile :D

You could say he's been lucky that there has always been a job for him when we have changed managers. Not many clubs would of done that time after time.

It will be a true end of an era if Russ completely moves on with a clean break. Usually proper club men (Fergie, King Kenny, Bobby Robson, etc) stay involved in som form or other behind the scenes or in the posh seats until brought to a natural mortal end. I always thought Russ would be the same.

A bit like how his form tailed off last season.

Is it that much of a surprise? He only came in because of DC and I suspect that was the only reason he signed on after the initial short-term deal.

He's based in Manchester and the only reason he signed has gone. I'm more surprised it's taken this long for him to jump ship.

Really uninspiring news coming from the club at the moment. Hopefully work is underway behind the scenes to make some decent signings. Lots of other clubs making signings. Hope we aren't going to be left behind scraping the bottom of the barrel

Starting from a low mark, we don't have to travel too far to get there. I will keep my phone with me at all times, just in case
