In the next round of the EFL Trophy. That's that then (probably).

At least we missed discussions around a former striker for the 100th time

That said they're in 19th lost 4 out of the last 5 in the league so not a foregone conclusion if we learn how to pass again

Probably the team we wanted just not at home.

If I was living local I would have gone for Birmingham - home or away. So not my preferred draw. London Road is (was) an awkward trip (FA Cup years ago); an old school ground - but one that probably still makes Whaddon Road look and feel great...!

(Ilkeston Town top scorer just gone to Harrogate... just to keep some of us real...)

Birmingham City await the winners in the Southern Final. Hopefully, it will turn out to be a sell out at Whaddon Rd... Hopefully without A May (nor J Stansfield) scoring a hat trick. Or scoring at all!

Sky will be salivating at the prospect of a Wrexham v Birmingham final. Let’s hope we can upset the apple cart.

Really looking forward to this game, not the foregone conclusion it seemed at the draw and their forum seems really down the in dumps.

Side point, wonder how many EFL scouts will be casually watching on sky; 30, 40, 50? Hope we turn up and our young eye catching talent put on a performance.

hmmm what's the betting if we do get through tonight, we are drawn away at Birmingham (heated balls, anyone?! ;)

still bitter about that Plymouth semi and the penalty shoot out...

Is it still regionalised in the semis? It wasn't two years ago (we drew Plymouth but could have drawn Accrington or Bolton).

Just did a bit of Googling and according to Birmingham Live (reporting on the Blues' win last night), the semis are not regionalised, so we could draw any of the 3 remaining teams if we win tonight..

Who knows. I've literally read that it is regionalised, and that the semis are effectively the southern and northern finals. I may have mentioned once or twice that this tournament is a bit of a joke, and the fact you can't easily find and confirm these details at this stage of it is just further proof. In this day and age it shouldn't be hard to get this info out there.

However, it appears that you're correct and it is an open draw in the semis. If we're in it, I guess we'll find out in a few days for certain!

No one really takes much notice of the competition unless we have a good run do they?! I honestly had no idea that Peterborough were the current holders of the trophy until I read it just now..

I vaguely recall watching last year's final but I can't remember who were the opposition!
Think the turning point was when someone got sent off?
I don't know .....

I would imagine they will keep it regionalised as that's the easiest way to keep Wrexham/Bolton apart from Birmingham...
