I don't condone their actions, but nobody should have to wait three years to be sentenced.

Mass brawl football fans will wait three years before being sentenced

These were young lads who shouldn't have this hanging over their heads for so long.

Seems these eleven 20-somethings (just to clarify that these 'young lads' were actually grown adults at the time) all pled guilty but four others had to go to trial and, apparently, the sentencing had to wait until the conclusion of that - and that was the bulk of the delay. I agree that there shouldn't be such a huge delay - but I've little sympathy and they need to realise that actions have consequences.

I wonder if the club has taken any action in the meantime?

Not unusual for big delays these days, but surely none of them will be given custodial sentences though?

Not a solicitor by any stretch but I wouldn’t expect affray to be anything more than a suspended sentence and fine for most people.

For so long? Rape cases can go on for five years which is an even more ridiculous state of affairs.

Don't get caught up in at scrap at the football and you won't have to suffer the consequences 🤷

Just to repeat: I wonder if the club has done anything in the meantime, seeing as they've pled guilty to football-related violence?

The club wouldn't need to do anything, they will be on court banning orders until sentencing I would imagine.

As of the end of the 23/24 season we only had one supporter subject to a football banning order so it seems this lot haven’t had any stadium sanctions yet.

From my understanding a football banning order is what will come once it's been through the courts, I have heard of several people that are under a club ban, which would be a different thing altogether.
