Talk about other football teams at all levels. AND ANY Glos City related threads, even if talking about the groundsharing.

Heard an interesting story about Dale Vince the other day. As some of you will know, the Cotswold Canals Trust is working hard to restore the Stroudwater Navigation, much of it completely abandoned and unusable, with a view to joining up eventually with the Thames & Severn Canal. The CCT is a charity, depending on volunteers to carry out the huge amount of work involved.

Anyhow, they need to dig out a collapsed section of the Navigation to the east of Stonehouse at Eastington, near to where the M5 crosses over. Next to this junction is the site of DV's proposed new EcoPark incl what will be the new stadium for FGR. The club's training ground has already been built on the site and is, I believe, operational.

Anyhow, the local Council imposed some conditions on the building? operation? of the training ground which Vince didn't like. So he then withheld permission for the Trust to continue restoring the canal along its original route and over some land which he owns.

As a result, they are going to have to make a costly and time-consuming detour for that particular section.

And I repeat, the Cotswold Canal Trust is a registered charity:

He’s a nasty piece of work, unless he gets what he wants.
