A name being banded about is Mark Wright, I think he is likely to be the left winger we are tracking. Happy with that if it comes off even though his career to date has been very hit and miss:

Are we going to have a blue and orange away kit this year as an homage?

Yates is clearly going for players who have won promotion and knows what it takes. I think Wright was promoted with Shrews and Walsall.

Yes he is from Walsall so it must suit him rather than relocate across the other side of the country. Not sure what sort of wages Southend are paying but I would hope not a lot given their recent financial troubles.

He WAS on trial there, however had not been training with them for a few weeks now as he doesn't wish to move to the area - who in their right mid would?!

Read somewhere that Phil Brown is worried about the size of his squad and being heavily restricted by funds. It will be interesting to see whether it was MW or LR that is MY's primary target.

I'd rather have Wright than Rooney, although I didn't realise he's 31!

Wrighty lives in Telford.

He would be a great signing for any League 2 club having won promotion from that division with Walsall, MK Dons and ourselves. His goal scoring record for a winger is exceptional, he's a real match winner.
