I think the comma in your quote means that the scoring goals in the Scottish League was a different time to signing for Cheltenahm.
On the blurb I just saw before it said I was blocked from the page it said "His perseverance took him to Hayes & Yeading United FC, where he became top scorer. He then earned a transfer to Cheltenham Town FC and scored goals in the Scottish league. In the book, Duku candidly reflects on his career, his missteps and his growth — both as a person and an athlete."

Jake Doyle-Hayes is suing Hibs over injuries caused in a training ground tackle by Lee Johnson back in 2022. He claims his fitness and career has suffered ever since and is therefore claiming for loss of earnings.
I liked him. Thought he was a classy, energetic player. Seem to recall he had a blinder in a win at Plymouth?

Nathan Butler-Oyedeji released by Arsenal .
Thought Nuttall was unfairly maligned during his spell. By the end he was putting in some decent displays, although his initial inability to jump more than 2 inches was an issue.
Tom Pett signs on permanently for Oldham. Judging by the reaction of the Oldham fans, he impressed while on loan last season.
Quality player on his day - I still think of his first half display against Reading in L2 where we chucked a 2-goal lead, as one of the best individual performances I've seen over the last few seasons.

That was in L1. Wonder if he's still got L2 in him after a year of NLJim wrote: ↑18 Jun 2025, 07:43 Tom Pett signs on permanently for Oldham. Judging by the reaction of the Oldham fans, he impressed while on loan last season.

Yeah, that's a brain fart moment, I meant to qualify it by saying L1 and put L2...Shade wrote: ↑18 Jun 2025, 16:15That was in L1. Two year deal and close to home.
Good luck Tom.

Tav on the move again.
Will link up with Aaron Jarvis who GJ was keen to sign last year, although he had an injury affected season...would still have given more than Bowman with hindsight though.

Luke Southwood linking back up with Darrell Clarke (and Gav and Bittner) at Bristol Rovers.
Southwood failed at League 1 then?Jerry St Clair wrote: ↑24 Jun 2025, 15:34 Luke Southwood linking back up with Darrell Clarke (and Gav and Bittner) at Bristol Rovers.

Could be a moved aligned with the theme we’ve been seeing all summer - personal circumstances. Southwood is from Oxford and is based on the Ox/Gloucs border. Could be that he just wants to be closer to family and friends.
Geography might have played a part, but with Bolton having brought in highly -rated Teddy Sharman-Lowe on a season- long loan from Chelsea he knew he'd be back to bench warming which wouldn't help his international career.
I expect that Rovers fans won't be initially enthused as he's not 6' 5" tall which often sways our opinions on goalies.
Suspect he'll get a warm welcome at the EV Charger Points stadium.

Good luck to him, should have been utilised more here last season but unsure it's strictly true that it's close to home. He's Cheshire based so still a bit of a trek to Oldham.Fuller wrote: ↑18 Jun 2025, 16:36 https://www.gloucestershirelive.co.uk/s ... t-10273002

Failed is harsh, he was largely number two at Bolton so probably dropping down to guaranteed first team football under a manager he knows/trusts.Shade wrote: ↑24 Jun 2025, 17:23Southwood failed at League 1 then?Jerry St Clair wrote: ↑24 Jun 2025, 15:34 Luke Southwood linking back up with Darrell Clarke (and Gav and Bittner) at Bristol Rovers.
Centre half. Only played a few times, usually as a sub. Still young though.
