Michael Hector, unfathomably, in the PFA “free agents” team playing at Cambridge this afternoon. He is only 32. Not sure how he is without a club.

In the youth set up so counts I’d say.

Both were in youth football - one at CTFC, the other at Notts County, Forest and Leicester before injury led to him becoming an actor

Yes that is a surprise as he would be a very solid L1 or top of L2 defender. Wage demands or injury record putting off clubs perhaps?

Missed this at the end of the window but Dan Nlundulu joined Cambridge on a season long loan from Bolton.
Wonder if he’ll ever settle anywhere?

No, is my bet.
Not a player, but a former manager...Darrell Clarke had a good one tonight, battered 7-0 by some Premier League no hopers.

Thanks Shev. I read a great piece about TNS preparing for playing Fiorentina in the Guardian today and it had quite a few quotes from Conor Roberts the goalkeeper. I wasn’t sure if it was the same one so good to have it confirmed.

That's good to know. I read the match report and it said keeper Connor Roberts had made a very good save or two, but didn't realise it was the same player either.

Obviously I'm no orthopaedic surgeon, but Southwood was back playing in August less than 4 months after breaking his leg at Stevenage. Presumably he was rehabilitated and training long before that. I appreciate there are breaks and there are breaks but that seems a lightning fast recovery.

Just looking it up, apparently minor fractures heal in 6-8 weeks. He broke his leg on 27th April, so could feasibly have been healed by 24th June.
