If Gloucester City were, one day, to climb into the League and the same division as us, do you think our average home gates would considerably improve due to the local rivalry and history between the clubs? I think it would stir a fair few, young and old, into supporting their local side. It would no doubt do a lot more for football in the area to have two proper football league clubs and a proper old school Gloucestershire rivalry. Think back to what Cheltenham v Gloucester used to be like...and then imagine it in the 3rd tier. Carnage.

I think you might be right. Just the general increased media coverage as well hyping up games.
And as you say, the general rivalry. A dull Tuesday night at home to Accrington has more importance and more jeopardy if it means we overtake Gloucester with a win, so more people are going to want to go.

Guess that makes our wish of a new main stand somehow sound a little more achievable. Just need George Lloyd to come good and sell to Wrexham for a few million.
