Wycombe and FGR are sniffing too.
Alfie May - Blackburn Rovers show interest.

If Vince sells Ecotricity for £500million then he can spend 1% on May. Otherwise it’s laughable.
If Blackburn are serious, don’t return their calls until we know how much they have sold Bereton-Diaz for. OR, do a variation of the Chelsea-Liverpool-Newcastle Torres and Carroll method. Tell Blackburn we want £2.5million for May, and they can just add that on to the asking price for Bereton-Diaz.

The usual Summer click bait (hopefully!). I would be more inclined to believe it if Blackburn had a manager but as Mowbray is leaving then I remain skeptical.
I agree. It does seem bizarre that there is this rumour going around. Surely any decision on recruitment will be made by the incoming manager?Warwickshire Robin wrote: ↑09 May 2022, 10:51 The usual Summer click bait (hopefully!). Dismiss it if you wish, but it's from a reliable source and no I'm not putting the name on here or the amount as I don't believe that's in the clubs best interest.
As Robin alludes to there is probably a release clause as there was with Ryan Broom.
Mind you I don't now follow 72, EFL hub etc. as it's often just kid in a bedroom stuff.
When JP mentions something I'll be concerned.
Anyway players come and go and some goal scorers are one season wonders.
Pre xmas a lot of people said Alfie was decent, but a poor finisher.
Charlie Brown could be the next cab off the rank.

I thought Paul Mullin was a one season wonder, but he looked a perfect div. 1 striker against Stockport pity we can`t afford him.paperboy wrote: ↑09 May 2022, 15:43 As Robin alludes to there is probably a release clause as there was with Ryan Broom.

My mate’s postman actually delivered the offer letter and cheque (Blackburn are old school) to Whaddon Road. Well he was meant to, but he tore it up and binned it. I can confirm your mate in the pub was closer to the mark than Robin’s latest source. Speaking of which, how is your Cobblers mate feeling after Saturday, Robin?

That's not a very helpful clue
Without Mays goals theres a chance we could of been relegated, so thats prove we need a quality replacement if he is to be transferred. Finding one would be difficult, id rather have him here next season, then move him on if he dosnt agree to an extension to his contract

More names added to the auction if he goes, Preston & Birmingham City the latest linked, should at least bump the price up!

I just cannot see a Championship club buying a 28 year old who has 2 years left on his contract and, before last season, had scored something like 25 goals in around 150 games in League 1 and League 2. To be honest, I'd be surprised if anyone buys him, given his contract and the fact he's hardly been prolific until this calendar year. But that doesn't mean we should take any old offer if it comes in.

That’s a good way to look at it but as an immediate option to get out of this division he must surely be attractive to the bigger hitters in this league.
In the form of his career with an improving record at this level, a couple of years contract left at relatively small wages (compared to what the big boys pay) and proven in a modern footballing system.
He’s ideal for the likes of Ipswich who have struggled for goals.
He’ll be on radars for sure.
