For what it’s worth, we have the highest open play xG in League One. According to thenearpost.org
As an aside, their Tweet with nine highest EFL xGs on is telling for another reason: our badge is the only one without the name of the club on, so anyone seeing the image won’t have any idea what club it is.

When is this for? This season? Last season? Last season and 2 games this season combined?

This season. Both games combined I think.
Interesting that our xG is 2.64 after scoring 2 goals in one game and none in the second, then. And when we should have been 4 or 5-0 up at half time in the first game. I have no idea how this works. Maths never my strong point, though, especially working out averages.

xG isn’t a perfect indicator as basically no chances have an xG of one. Often goals will be scored where the xG for the chance is something like 0.2. A team would need 5 chances with such an xG to have an xG of one.Shade wrote: ↑08 Aug 2022, 14:46 Interesting that our xG is 2.64 after scoring 2 goals in one game and none in the second, then. This is a different source which provides xG timelines.

For the Peterborough game it ended with our xG of 1.4 and Peterborough’s 1.9. We were ahead at HT.
May was our leading player with 0.5 xG.

A good xG does show we are doing something right in the way we play and attack though, which is good for our chances of getting out of the bottom four.
