so you think the new owner(s) are going to strip back spending and sort themselves with a few seasons in league one? or just spend just slightly less than the previous owners to get back into the champ asap
The new owner is a known rugby fan and has apparently only really taken control to secure the safety of the ground. He owns a 25% stake in Wigan Warriors.

They're not likely to be as mental as they have been previously. He has been clear that he wants the club to be stable and sustainable.
Who owns the ground? Why don't the rugby club just buy it?

I bet the rugby club can't stand the football club

The embargo means they cannot sign players or add to the club staff.

Reading can do the f*ck they want if they turn Burton over on Saturday. Never would goals from a financially doped strike force be more welcome.

Reading have sold their 1800 allocation for their traditional inflatables day. It'll be a raucous in celebratory mood. Entirely possible there'll be more away fans than home. Every little helps.

They've been banned from taking inflatables though I believe.

That decision will leave Reading fans feeling pretty deflated i'd imagine

Indeed. Though, coincidently, Reading's final away game in 2017 was at Burton. The stewards began confiscating inflatables when the turnstiles opened, but pretty soon gave up.

Reading’s women’s team have been disbanded along with the girls’ academy. Possibly the most despicable and shameful episode in Dai Yongge’s ownership (and that’s a high bar to clear).

There is talk of Reading FC Women being reformed as a phoenix club and applying to women’s leagues at step 3, so could play Cheltenham Town Ladies next season.

that and making employees redundant so players can be paid.

no doubt all Reading's supporters will be cheering on their team back to the championship.

Rob Couhig's takeover at Reading, seemingly a done deal a couple of weeks ago, has collapsed. Fans are livid and protests, having been paused, will begin again.

They come here in the BSM in a couple of weeks, of course. I suspect they'll target a higher profile game for protest but keep your eye on it.

Butler-Oyedeji on the bench for Arsenal in the champions league tonight. As we know he is the ultimate impact-sub.

Is that the lad that got sent off at Peterborough for attempting a kung fu kick?

Maybe we could downgrade this one to a league two clubs in crisis?

Ah so some are using the legal loophole, of this leg of the forum stating it still relates to L1, to continue discussing the other league. Cunning

That's mind blowing, fully expected him to be somewhere in the non-league circuit by now. Can't see him being a pro footballer beyond this season unless he grows and improves massively.

One suspects the Shrews fans would be happier if a certain Mr Moore had been let go instead.

Knowing MM's 'extensive' contacts book that means he will be on the phone to David Bloxham today asking for permission to speak to Michael Flynn!!!!!!

He’s basically saying the finances in L1 are now such that Shrews can’t compete without external investment.

Given that Moore et al went because they massively boosted their salaries, and Shrewsbury are a club we aspire to be, that is concerning. The L1 drawbridge is being pulled up.

Most of the nonsense that happens in the prem slowly trickles down the leagues and now it seems (ridiculous) player's salaries are now really a problem for smaller league one clubs.

that crazy season where we had ipswich, sunderland, derby, sheff wed, bolton, portsmouth, reading and charlton all in the league was insane but now see the current league one (pretty much) as it should be and its quite a concerning situation that clubs such as shrewsbury and starting to feel the pinch.
