Morecambe going from bad to worse. A fans group is now raising money to try and buy a significant stake on the club. Fears that funding may dry up and completing the season would be challenging.
Swindon still a mess. TrustSTFC delivered a "no confidence" letter to the owner. It seems that bills and ground rent are being paid as late as possible without incurring sanctions.
Instability rarely leads to success on the pitch so, with my glass half-empty hat on, the bottom end of league two could be competitive next season.
Any other clubs in L2, maybe some up and and coming ones, that we can also lob into the basket case?
League Two - clubs in crisis

I saw two wind-up posts on twitter yesterday. One from a Morecambe fan pretending the club had been bought, angering a few ppl, and one from a League 2 account making Swindon fans think they had signed Dan Kemp on a permanent (he’s not going back there). Deluded Swindon fans seemed to think they would be challenging for promotion.

Newport should be on the up with Huw Jenkins at the helm.bigdavejambo wrote: ↑10 Jun 2024, 18:11 i think Accrington and Newport will be in the relegation battle next season
Morecambe's registration embargo has been lifted, 15 players signed today...

According to the Newport website they signed Courtney Baker Richardson yesterday who became their ninth summer signing?
I mean my post was 20th June, which at the time would have been correct.Warwickshire Robin wrote: ↑12 Jul 2024, 20:22According to the Newport website they signed Courtney Baker Richardson yesterday who became their ninth summer signing?

Our friends down the A419 lurch from crisis to crisis. Due to issues with their online ticketing platform, they are now only selling tickets in person, from the ticket office. And they want fans to pay “exact cash”.
Swindon fans are upping their campaign to get the owner out. They are a disaster zone. We go there in March - wouldn’t it be serendipitous to put a nail in their relegation coffin?

Having said that, Morecambe are still in the mire perhaps even more so than Swindle. Their owner, having put the club up for sale in 2022, has issued a statement saying the sale to a new owner is still progress albeit very slowly. Shrimps fans are sceptical to say the least. Eerie parallels with what happened to Worcester Warriors a few years ago.
Even at this stage it looks like Morecambe will take one of the relegation spots so it's just a case of who goes with them, I would have said after the Swindon defeat we could realistically be one but you'd imagine right now there are enough worse sides for us to avoid a double dip.
Latest relegation odds for those interested:
Morecambe 4/5
Carlisle 7/2
Accrington 7/2
Harrogate 7/2
Newport 7/2
Cheltenham 13/2
Bromley 9/1
Swindon 12/1
Swindon have to be the value there, Accrington, Newport and Harrogate looked like they'd have enough to avoid the drop based on their performances here.

Agreed. Relatively stable clubs have more of a fighting chance. Clubs in long term crises tend to enter death spirals. Swindon look well worth a 50p wager, though it's hard to see past Carlisle and Morecambe at the moment.

Surprised Colchester aren’t on that list.
14/1 next in line after Swindon, I think the Cowleys being there gives people belief they will be fine despite battling relegation the past few seasons.
Carlisle now have financial power to improve in January so I can see them picking up potentially. It's not easy to say who goes with them but likely Accrington/Harrogatge will have very limited resources to improve in January.Jerry St Clair wrote: ↑27 Oct 2024, 09:04 Agreed.
