Taking his Huddersfield team to take on Tamworth in the FA cup (BBC 2) tonight.

Reminded me of our tie there a decade ago and Jamie Cureton missing a great chance.
Gutting defeat.

He's had a mare. Huddersfield were awful. Keeper punched in an own goal from a throw. If he'd left it, it'd have been a goal kick  so much for cup keepers...

Awful night for MD.
Tamworth keeper was as good as Huddersfield's was poor.
He kept his million pound No9 on for 85 minutes and he made Ryan Bowman look like Harry Kane.

Looked toxic at the end. Abuse being hurled at Duffo from the away end, he looked like he responded to it a little bit. Horrendous night for him.

Big blow for him just as he'd turned their league form around.

Needs a good run until Xmas or he'll be in trouble and another failure on his CV.

The problem he has is expectation. Just before he joined us in Sept 2018, Huddersfield had finished 16th in the Premier League. They are currently 7th in L1 and memories of hosting Liverpool, Man Utd etc are fresh in the memory. Anything less than challenging for promotion from the Championship, let alone L1, is failure.

He's got a big job on.

lol one spell in the prem and 'uddersfield fans think they should there again, you're huddersfield for christ's sake, get back in your box.

yet another problem with the 'modern game' UNREAL EXPECTATION's.

That's not what I said and not what, I suspect, most Huddersfield fans believe.

A club with a 25000 seat stadium, that has been League Champions and FA Cup winners and that has spent two years in the Premier League in recent history could reasonably expect to be in a higher position than 7th in League One. They expect to be top 10 in the Championship.

I don't think Duffo has worked under that level of expectation before, even at Swansea.

Needs a few scrappy 1-0 wins tbh...Will give him a bit of breathing space, as he's only been there since May.

Always felt that Swansea wanted Duff to win games playing their typical style, so even if he won games, the fans wouldn't have been happy, as he wasn't playing Swansea-style football.

As Swansea went from Div 4 to the Prem playing that style ( and had a film made about it too!) it'll be a hard act to follow for any young manager - obvs not Ferguson at Man U tough, but there will be expectations that have to be tempered.

It would be a bit harsh if Duff was only given one transfer window to stamp his authority on Huddersfield but I don't know if his history with Swansea has marked him out as a bit stubborn?
