Let's face it, if players are being recalled it'll be Colwill to go to a L1 club and Laing, maybe Shipley, because they're not getting enough game time, and if we're selling anyone, if Flynn thinks we might get a loan back, it'll be Archer or Thomas. Laing and Shipley wouldn't be too much of a blow but any of the others and...I hope we're in a good place by January if that's the case, but December's fixtures are tough.

Shipley and Laing may still have something to offer.
All it takes is a few injuries..and back to struggling to put a team together.
Wasn't it a few weeks ago it was banded about..Bennett out..Kinsella a liability..
Think the squad is going to be important towards the end of the race.

On what was a surprisingly good day for the club this little snippet feels like bad news. Of the loanees I would be worried if we were to lose either Colwill or Stubbs as they are now pretty much certain starters when fit and integral to how we play. I could see reasons for both leaving, one to get a loan to league one and the other if a permanent deal is lined up. Hopefully if we can get a favourable draw in the next round we can try to keep Stubbs permanently in January. I can see Laing and Shipley being returned just to free up space in the squad anyway and Norkett is just a squad player so again my go back and drop a level for regular football.

As for player sales that has to be Ethon Archer, he's nowhere near the finished product but I could see league one teams taking a gamble of him for a six figure fee given how he's progressing.

And to think everyone was up in arms for signing players from lower league and Torquay…

I don't think anyone would mind the occasional punt on a non-league player but given we tried to sign several players fans were right to be concerned I'd say.

Before today I wasn't worried about Colwill being recalled. Good player with lots of potential, but it feels like he's at the right level for where he's at in his career. He's not tearing L2 to shreds and I can't see a huge queue of L1 clubs lining up to play him week in week out. Yesterday could have changed that but I still don't see it.

Archer is the obvious sale but surely we wouldn't be maximising his value selling now. Thomas hasn't shown enough to get big fee either... if we sell either or both in Jan I worry we'll be cashing out way too soon.

Same. Unless they absolutely tear it up over the next two months, it's far too soon to sell. We'll get sod all and then they'll be sold on again for ten times the figure a couple of years later and we won't have a sell on.

Too right, lets hope we don't get bids for all of them. Then what :D

I'm with Robin, here... Signing a couple of non-league players is absolutely worth a go. Signing half a team of them is a helluva risk at our level. Great if it comes off - not so much if it doesn't.

I'm also still on the fence as far as the manager is concerned. A good run we may be on - but 'form' has a habit of being temporary and it just takes one rubbish performance at home to, I dunno, Harrogate, for example and all those fans gushing as if everything in the garden is suddenly rosey, will look very silly.

I'm more of a glass half full person.

The squad is now progressing in terms of sustain performances.

The players are giving 100% even in cup because they want to play Saturday.

There are now green shoots from which MF and his staff...and the players deserve credit.

The football is unrecognisable from hoff ball a few weeks ago.

Settled squad and identity has helped.

I would like to think the board would do what they can to keep his squad togther given they have only just been signed.

Salford away nothing to worry about either.
