They’ll be from different budgets for a start.

I personally say get rid of Swindon Road if it saves us money. The other tip is only 5-10 minutes from there and takes everything, unlike SR.

The whole problem is with who decides money goes into which budget and that it then has to stay there. I'd imagine the % of the population that wants a shitload of money spent on a cycle lane that will hardly be used is very low. Less so than the % that would like a million of it transferred to Swindon Lane. It's the people's money. Other ppl decide to spend it on stupid stuff instead of what actually matters to us.

Yep, we pay over our tax and some ejit with too much spare time on his or her hands, decides how it is best spent. Same logic that gave us the Boots corner fiasco.
How anyone in their right mind thought a cycle track was a good way to invest part of our levelling up money, is beyond me. Every time i walk up Evesham road i feel so levelled up.
Not shocked they dont want local elections

Well, I wouldn't go that far, they did reject his tents and his first plans for the outside dining area. Last thing the town needs is someone like Dunkerton being encouraged out of the town by being stupid with non-permanent structures, imo.

Yet they forced the cafe at the pump room to close and be removed. Which looks like a very similar construction. I wonder who objected to that being there? Certainly wasnt the residents of whaddon i would guess

131 seemed to trade profitably before Covid and the tents then appearing.
Thought he might have explored lowering the ground level at the front which would have mitigated the impact of any structures- service pipes permitting.
