...appears to be off to pastures new. JP reporting: "Looks like left-back Ryan Haynes will be leaving Cheltenham Town after one injury-disrupted season"
If Bradbury also moves on then there will be no left sided defenders in the squad.
Ryan Haynes

Maybe it is just me, or life making me sceptical. But this is exactly my fear. Our ability to replace those that leave, with better.
Thought he looked solid enough when he came back. He was pretty poor initially, I agree. I think he was injured by the Swindon game, so didn’t feature in our turn around in form. Maybe he would’ve improved along with the rest of the team, or he was a part of the problem…!
The one thing I liked about him was that he seemed to be a solid left back (I know he was probably bought as an LWB)—not an attacking LWB who is suspect defensively or an LCB who can’t get forward. I.e. a round peg in a round hole.
For continuity, more than anything, it would’ve been good for him to stay. Just another position we need to try to fill.

Ryan Haynes looked good when he returned from injury. Puts in some great crosses and is a decent height. I will be sad to see him go but looking forward to the replacement. Maybe Adedokun back ?
That's a good shout, was he released by Brentford?horlickfanclub wrote: ↑11 Jun 2025, 09:17 Ryan Haynes looked good when he returned from injury. Puts in some great crosses and is a decent height. I will be sad to see him go but looking forward to the replacement. Maybe Adedokun back ?
Ben Williams would be a decent player if he wasn't made of glass. Sadly, I just don't think he'll ever play more than a few games before going down with another injury.
I liked Val, thought he improved the more he played. His ball for Jordan Thomas's goal against Crewe was outstanding.

Val was good, there were flashes of a player above the level. The type of pick up you want to make from if released from U23 squads (I know he’s still under contract).
I think overall our loans last season were pretty good, but I’m probably comparing them to the season before which were a disaster!
I’m guessing the young prem lad we had training with us at the end of the season didn’t come to anything?

Good spot, I guess not otherwise he would likely have signed by now. I do wonder if we could sign Val for a small fee if we sell one of our talents other clubs are tracking.Jim wrote: ↑11 Jun 2025, 12:37 Val was good, there were flashes of a player above the level. I wonder if we see him make a run out at Cleeve or Worcester as a trialist... not that we'll know which one he is! i'm expecting quite a few trialists in the opening games, we'll need them to make up the numbers if nothing else!Robin wrote: ↑11 Jun 2025, 13:53Good spot, I guess not otherwise he would likely have signed by now. We have a squad of over twenty players already, add the loans to that and a few permanent signings thgen surely not much room for too many trialists this summer.Jim wrote: ↑11 Jun 2025, 14:15I wonder if we see him make a run out at Cleeve or Worcester as a trialist... not that we'll know which one he is! i'm expecting quite a few trialists in the opening games, we'll need them to make up the numbers if nothing else!Robin wrote: ↑11 Jun 2025, 13:53Good spot, I guess not otherwise he would likely have signed by now. Understand Brackley Town are close to finalising a deal for Ryan Haynes #ctfc
Brackley town for FFS
Either he has given up /lost interest or they must have a finicial backer
Tell us the full story someone

He's from Northampton, they're full time, one division below us and are very well backed (unlikely to be FGR levels, but well backed nonetheless).
EDIT: Turns out they're not full time - that might also have been part of his decision, especially given the injury he had.

Quality not quantity. Are you seriously saying all the have to do is tinker?Robin wrote: ↑11 Jun 2025, 15:02We have a squad of over twenty players already, add the loans to that and a few permanent signings thgen surely not much room for too many trialists this summer.

I can only count 19 including those transfer listed and those tipped to get move for a fee so.

As mentioned Brackley are not full-time, they probably use the hybrid model like many teams at that level, so training three or four mornings a week. It lets players earn extra through part-time or gig economy work. If his home is in the Northampton area then you can see why he’d move as he’s either cutting out the cost of renting in Chelt or 2-3 hours driving each day.
Plus he’s nearly 30 and I think I can count on one hand the number of times he’s played 90 minutes of league football in the last two seasons. Personally I wouldn’t have offered him a contract as we’ve already got Pell, Bennett and Young who I expect to see on the injury list more than once next season.

19 players shown on the official as of today.
Day - apparently re-signing.
Jude- Boyd - subject to interest elsewhere.
Haynes - probably off.
Bradbury - undecided.
Bennett - has he got another full season in him?
Bakare - available for transfer.
Power.
Kinsella.
Pell - a whole year out and hardly played the season before.
Young.
Backwell.
Sonha - available for transfer.
Thomas - probably moving on.
Archer - possibly moving on.
Miller.
Dulson.
Taylor - available for transfer.
Wilcox, King, Obieri - young lads.
Am I worried at this time……yes.

This is what also worries me a bit, although it's still very early days.Fuller wrote: ↑11 Jun 2025, 18:39 19 players shown on the official as of today.

There are too many question marks on the squad. Other than youngsters there are only 8 there you can safely say will be 1st teamers next season. I expect at least 2 of our 3 big assets to go, and if I'm honest I'm 75/25 it'll be all 3.
Hope the outs get settled as early as possible, but I don't see us shifting any of the listed players easily. Right now it feels a bit of a mess but there is still loads of time to sort it out...
Neither he or young keeper Mamadou Diallo are listed on the official, so ok, 21 players.
Whatever way you look at it, the squad will probably look very different in mid August.
And so will the staff - again.
It's worth remembering that the first signings last summer (Harry Pell and Scot Bennett) were not made until 14th June.
The difference between last summer and this was we had more off-field turmoil so the news was pretty fluid, whereas this season, with a manager in place, etc..., there has been no news so it feels like nothing is happening.

Maybe not the two best examples to trot outSi Robin wrote: ↑12 Jun 2025, 07:00 It's worth remembering that the first signings last summer (Harry Pell and Scot Bennett) were not made until 14th June.
