Hope he gets back to full health quite quickly.

Interesting chat. Glad he's on the mend after a tough summer by the sound of it.
He seemed relatively confident of keeping our 'three talents', which is encouraging.
Also underlines how badly we need Mr Garlick to dot the 'i's and cross the 't's. Any chance one of his first acts if it goes through is to get JT on a longer contract??

He massively underplayed his health issues over the summer. You don’t spend three weeks in and out of hospital and lose a load of weight for something trivial. Hope he’s back to 100% soon.
He implied that we lost Bradbury to Harrogate for more money, which is very troubling. If we can’t compete with them, we are in dire straits (at least until Garlick comes in).

Do you think he will provide Money For Nothing...?
Hold on he said "we really shouldn't be losing players to the likes of Harrogate, with no disrespect intended because they operate on a budget smaller than ours". That wasn't suggesting it was about money and that also goes against everything that reliable people are saying about what really happened. It also suggests Flynn was frustrated with what may have gone on behind the scenes which led to Tom leaving.Jerry St Clair wrote: ↑29 Jun 2025, 17:25 He massively underplayed his health issues over the summer. I think Flynn has a tough job but he comes across well in that interview. It will be interesting to see how his meeting with the new owner goes next week.

He mentioned the fee MK paid for Aaron Collins is around 75 percent of our total playing budget, which would mean we are playing with around £1.1m.
MK paid more than the rumoured £850k that Bolton paid Bristol Rovers for Collins. There are some rumours that it was over a million quid.TheTownClub wrote: ↑29 Jun 2025, 20:21 He mentioned the fee MK paid for Aaron Collins is around 75 percent of our total playing budget, which would mean we are playing with around £1.1m.
Doesn't increase our budget by much mind.
There is close to zero chance our budget is that low, that figure is around what we had when we won the national league. In league one the budget was supposedly just over £2million a year. If I had to guess we are probably somewhere just under £2million now given the big increase in TV money so Flynn is probably including wages of the Collins deal so total package or exaggerating to make a point. That's still very low though when you consider Port Vale got promoted with a wage bill of £6.6million and Carlisle when down with a wage bill over £5million.TheTownClub wrote: ↑29 Jun 2025, 20:21 He mentioned the fee MK paid for Aaron Collins is around 75 percent of our total playing budget, which would mean we are playing with around £1.1m.
If anyone realistically thinks our budget is £1.1 million then I would suggest they avoid replying to those Nigerian prince just needing a bank account to share their wealth. I don't know what our budget is but the chances of it being halved after relegation when crowds have only declined slightly and TV money increased greatly is slim to none.

............one thing that does come out of this interview is the man's fundamental decency. There is no attempt at glossing things whilst simultaneously not painting a picture of doom & negativity. He's also not foolish enough to think the potential takeover (which is of course yet to happen) is an instant magic pill, but smart enough to know it could be a very good thing.
Summary; lower-league manager with head screwed on.

I really like the guy - no sugar coating of the issues we're having to deal with, but also appreciating that everyone is trying their best.Benny Profane wrote: ↑30 Jun 2025, 09:51 ............one thing that does come out of this interview is the man's fundamental decency. I genuinely don't get why some people don't like him (mostly on the cesspit that is Twitter, I hasten to add).
