Worcester City v Cheltenham Town

Just got back, you can never read anything into friendlies but it's obvious where we are weak and neeed to improve defence was mostly youngsters and Bakare (who got caught out of position) and upfront, very few chances created.
I'll get shot down for this but we are wasting everyone's time with these trialists none of them look any where near good enough and our youngsters look technically better and in some cases physically stronger too.
Apparently a new player set to be announced on Monday a young defender joining.

But how would we know if we didn’t trial them?! That’s the whole point of a trial is it not??Robin wrote:Just got back, you can never read anything into friendlies but it's obvious where we are weak and neeed to improve defence was mostly youngsters and Bakare (who got caught out of position) and upfront, very few chances created.

Did you go today? Our youngsters looked much better than the trialists who'd probably not be guaranteed starters for Worcester. There is nothing wrong with trialing players but you have to be realistic and it was obvious they were nowhere near being considered for a contract and were just there to make up numbers.ctfc-fan wrote: ↑05 Jul 2025, 16:13But how would we know if we didn’t trial them?! He seems a decent guy who's had his fair share of ups and downs but looks to have turned things around. Good on him.
In honesty I don't think anybody looked particularly good. King was lively. So many changes and young players it was hard to judge.Robin wrote: ↑05 Jul 2025, 16:28Did you go today? Bakare and Sohna looked uninterested to me. The 2nd half trialists were pretty anonymous. It was hard to keep track of who was playing.
Worcester were well organised and full of physical players. Guinan took his goals well
If they wanted me out the door I would be pretty uninterested myself.Jim wrote: ↑05 Jul 2025, 17:49In honesty I don't think anybody looked particularly good. King was lively. If RCS was posting he would be saying it's all about the numbers and the stats
